Keeping innocent people safe from dangerous people is a "political" thing ?

As far as shelter goes they can have some of the finest, most protected shelter at the local jail. Just show up, tell em they are a sex offender with nowhere to be and get three hots and a cot. It is more than they deserve.

You forgot the rest of his tweet about there not being any ICE officers and that all Illegal Aliens are welcome.
So if you're an MS13 member or illegal alien with a long rap sheet for murder, mayhem and extortion it's all good! God forbid if you're on a list for peeing in public, having sex at 18 with 17 year old etc.
What a MORON, he deserves whatever the storm destroys...

That sounds like the McMartin case, where a mentally ill parent accused the day care center employees of molesting all the children, and even though they were found not guilty, it ruined their business.
Because as we know in America, "you are guilty upon accusation"
If someone has a warrant out for their arrest the cops are obligated to arrest them. So they are trying to discourage people with outstanding warrants from going to the shelters so that the officers can be free to deal with the storm.
And registered sex offenders aren't allowed near schools or children so of course they can't seek shelter in a school gym that has children in it.

Yeah, Florida as a whole was "oh so cute" with those laws that pretty much made anyone on the registry only able to live under bridges or leave the state. Same with GA. Doesn't matter what the offense, just that your on some list and branded with the scarlet "S" you deserve to die in a massive storm while others are safe and warm.
But again, if you're an Illegal Alien serious criminal who shouldn't be here anyway or some gang banger or MS13 member c'mon in, pull up a chair and sit a spell.
Yep, just caring for the people...
Hard for me to really care about a state that sees things that way...

So you'd take the chance of having a suspected sex offender around your kid or other loved one?
Or could be even worse, I don't know about FLA but in some states anyone who's plead guilty to urinating in public must register as a sex offender.
Not to defend them but I'd guess a majority of males have at some time in their lives pulled to the side of the road, walked into the bushes and relieved themselves. Bet they never knew it could end up a capital offense.
They should really address that. Not only is that offense, as well as silliness between an eighteen year old senior and his sixteen year old sophomore girlfriend a grave injustice, it also weakens the power of the registry.
Guy turns up on the registry, he can give you some BS story about how he got there for HS antics or peeing outside.
