Which says a whole lot about the intelligence and attention span of her voters than anything else...

I don't blame Maxine for being frightened by verbal threats from internet nuts. It is wrong to threaten people just for saying something. Maxine has a right to say what she wishes without threats to her life!

There are violent, nutty people are out there....like the man who shot Representative Steve Scalise and others at the DC baseball field just a few months ago.

MW's district does not count as representing American voters. No conscious registerd voter would re-elect her.

Also a district with a massive population of illegal immigrants who cannot vote, so even if voter turnout in her district was high (it's very low) a large part of the district's population would still be disenfranchised.

This is the real reason why US Congress does nothing and refuses to cooperate with itself. It's almost impossible for sensible adults to be elected to represent many congressional districts. You get these career clowns like Waters who know exactly how stupid their constituency is and just what to say to them to be assured they will keep their job basically in perpetuity.

It is like a labor union seniority rules . 26 years mean privilege. True potential leaders get the chair position

Not exactly. "Ranking member" means that Waters is the senior Democrat on the Committee and will become the chair should the Democrats retake the House next year. Majority party = Chair of Committee. Ranking Member = next chair if majority party changes.

But she says she is fearless....
