Rules are rules, that plywood was not for him to give away. I don't fault the company.

BUT, he did the right thing anyways, and that is one less regret he will have for the rest of his life.

Good on him.

Truck driver Tim McCrory says he knew that giving away his load of plywood during Hurricane Irma would get him fired.

But he did it anyway.

Ah .. the magic of plywood.

There is a category 5 hurricane coming .... here is some plywood.

Like that is really gonna help when your house is ripped off the foundation and scattered for miles.

I understand the intention, but he stole someone else's property and gave it away. He should have made the cops seize it from him if they really wanted to pass it out. His truck driving career is probably over, protecting the load is a big part of the job.

Put his tail in jail. It's no different than looting.

I'm hoping the ice cream man will open up the back of his truck the next time he comes by on a hot day.

One cannot give away another persons property without repercussions.

He might have lost his job but what he did was humane.

From the school of "Giving away someone elses stuff is okay because its a good cause".
Well thats what the state does and its ironic he'll end up being punished for it by the same state.

A very nice gesture, but it wasn't his to give. Maybe he should pay the company for the materials that he donated.

He should have called his company and told them what was going on and asked their permission to give it away. Again, the wood wasn't his to give away and the cops should never have asked him to do that.

That's right. It wasn't his to give away. Maybe he should have got permission from the owners of the plywood first.....his employer.
