No one forced people to take out loans or buy homes they couldn't afford. That is the fault of the predatory lenders, not Bush.

True. The debate is whether the administration could have stepped up to the plate to help avert the crisis.

The irony is that by "helping" the banks, the administration has actually seriously hurt them. In the case of Bear Stearns, irreparably.

the so called 'meltdown' has to do with people making stupid decisions.

The meltdown was greedy business and greddy people who wanted in on the housing valuation boom. They thpught the bubble would never burst.Both are paying the price now.

Spitzer's arrogance, hypocrisy, and false sense of entitlement brought him down, he didn't need any outside help.

Spitzer is a scumbag, what sort of values does this teach his daughters? ("Kristin" is only 4 years older than his oldest daughter!)
