It will be interesting to see if the % of ff jobs lasting is higher in states without a minimum wage far in excess of the Federal MW.
No, we've done extensive research on this, some of which I've shared here before.
ALL FF's and even fast casuals and casuals will have the customer placing the order at the table or kiosk and paying there, as well. They'll replace the big bulky POS (point of service) stations in the front of the house. A few 'runners' will deliver the food. More automated equipment is coming out all the time for the back of the house.
The only exceptions will be restaurants where attire is part of the brand, such as Hooter's. They're not getting rid of waitstaff for obvious reasons.
Everyone has a different timeframe for this over the next five to seven years, but it's coming.
The lack of business acumen, and the lack of knowledge of economics from the LEFT never ceases to amaze me. I should know better when all their arguments are based in emotion, not any kind of fact. Wow.
I guess they can thank the ones pushing for $15 minimums for fast food jobs that sped up this process. It would have happened eventually but non this fast. I am sure all major fast food chains are watching this and getting ready to do the same thing.
You mean, the world where no one bothers to pay the company, because it's much easier to just hop across the counter and steal food?
Because robots are not particularly adroit security guards?
Did you think this comeuppance would be cost free? Or that it would cost you less?
Or did you really believe that they would share the earnings with you?

Hooters better not, I don't want to see the maid from the Jetsons half naked.

An extreme amount of naivety in this thread, especially the narrative that this is somehow the "left"'s fault.

LOL, they're not. But you wouldn't see Rosie taking your order anyway. YOU will be ordering from either a kiosk, your phone or a tablet and paying the same way.

We live at a time where people have to be outraged and blaming 'the other side' all the time.
I will only say that this has been coming for some time but the $15 minimum wage discussion has sped things up.
