And how do we know it was Liberals who did it, could have easily been the alt-right who did it in an effort to make liberals look bad.
I don't understand what the rush to judgment is about anyway. Given that it's California, & a Spanish Roman Catholic member of the Franciscan order, later an inquisitor for New Spain, in any region that a regular inquisitor was not named. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jun%C3%ADpero_Serra - he was a busy priest.)
Given the historical record of the Franciscan orders in the Americas, his work with the inquisition, the attack on Fr. Serra's statue might easily be the work of Native Peoples activists. Glancing through a search of images of vandalized Roman Catholic statues in California, there seems to be quite a collection.
Police work takes time, especially the forensic. & frankly, attacks on statues aren't taken all that seriously by the police, to my knowledge. They typically have more urgent priorities to attend to. Still, if the vandalizers are ideological, they'll continue to attack statues. The police will respond eventually to public pressure to find the culprits - but it may take a while.
Do we actually know who did this? Whoever it was should be punished, but there is no reason to assume the vandal was a liberal until there is some evidence to support that assumption.
Nonsense. Leftists are constantly perpetrating real and fake crimes to advance their agenda. Conservatives... pretty much never.
Whoever did this is a vile person.
What about 'Pizza Gate'? Was that put forth by 'liberals'?
