Basically, is Trump a genius--bringing in the Democrats....pushing back the wall...backing DACA?

Or..has he blown up his base?

Seems like typical Republican policy on immigration. Talk tough to win over the hard right base; then cave and go pro amnesty. After all, Republicans are the pro business party and cheap labor is good for corporate profit margins.

I know, Trump wasn't supposed to be a typical Republican. Looks like he's a RINO after all. LOLOL!

Talking Republican Party in Disarray Over Immigration

And Obamacare

And tax reform

And the wall

And the Middle East

And N Korea

Absolutely. Standard operating procedure for the R's.

Of course, the Democrats do the same thing: they pretend to be pro-labor but then go along with neoliberal trade policies that enrich the top 0.1% and screw everyone else.

The political class knows that Americans are Grade A suckers, so they take full advantage of it.

Trump's base is sound.

Don't confuse the GOP establishment with Trump's base.

Remember the GOP establishment wanted JEB or Little Marco to be President. Failing that, they even tried to get Ted Cruz nominated. Trump's base decided otherwise.

I love that Trump is absolutely shaking up the status quo from both Parties.

This is absolutely what needed to happen in contrast to the do nothing Obama.

All this talk about "his base" is meaningless at this point. Trump's "base" is whoever is willing to adore him and genuflect to him at any given time. If you mean the people that voted for him, of course he would walk away from them in an instant, once they are no longer useful to him. He's been doing that from day one; it is now clear that all of his rhetoric and promises were simply a contrivance to manipulate a core of disgruntled voters.

True but Trump's base is small.

don't forget the swing vote won it for Trump.....Those aren't his base. They aren't his loyal supporters who would vote for him no matter what. Those swing votes will swing....that's the reality.
