As they happen organically, terrific, but no one should win or lose votes based on demographic characteristics.
So in the United States there are more women than men, yet in over 200 years, there has never been a single female president. Yet electing a female is a TOKEN first? That pretty much spells it out right there.

The qualified women have not chosen to run.

Any observations she's making now will have zero impact on women in future elections. It took women until 1974 to get a credit card without a man; the presidency is a long ways away.
That's what they said about a black president. *cough*

Hillary could have easily won that race but she resorted to insulting voters and has always had issues with being "likeable".

On top of that, she had trouble with black voters because she got labeled racist in 2008 during the primaries.

We're totally ready for a woman president, the fact that Hillary keeps failing isn't proof of that not being true because in reality it's HER, not her gender. Heck the fact that she expects some sort of agreement with her policies from other people with vagina's is pretty insulting.

Imagine a male candidate in 2016 saying, hey guys...we all have dicks so ya know we gotta stick together. She basically alternated between that, complaining about Trump and calling half of America deplorables including long-time blue collar democrats.

Well, that "token first" female candidate would have to be better than every single man ever elected while also persuading women who do not support other women to vote for them. An impossible task. Which is why a woman president is decades away if ever. I would love to see Republicans nominate a female candidate - not just put one on stage for Trump to insult, but actually nominate one. They would be forced to twist themselves into all kinds of knots trying to overcome the objections and insults of large segments of their own party. Very entertaining.

Amen.

Her plumbing neither qualifies nor disqualifies her.

Blacks support other blacks. Republicans went after Obama with everything in their arsenal. The saddest thing was seeing bookstores after Obama was elected and before the inaugural. They were filled with books attacking Obama in the most insane ways, book after book. Blacks didn't put up with that one bit and he was re-elected. Kudos to them. Women do not support other women. It was embarrassing seeing older women talk about Trump as if he might date them. The things he said were just "locker room talk". But if Hillary had spoken like that? Please.

We are nowhere close to electing a woman. As a Democrat, I hope we don't nominate a woman because I want to win and I've seen that women don't support other women. And I'm quite certain Republicans know this and won't nominate one either. They'll let her on stage but they won't actually nominate one as their candidate, much less elect one.

It is revolting Dems treat women with such disdain.

How dare Democrats actually nominate the first female presidential nominee in history?

Why would they, anyone that is capable and operating at a high level, why would they bother to subject themselves to the BS that goes along with a position in office. I often wonder about the mental state and health of someone that wants to run... I wonder if some kind of megalomaniac or NPD is operating in the background of these individuals.

People are bought and paid for long before they even begin to look for new carpet and drapes in the white house......
