How is that hating America?
It's just the opposite, it's respect for the legislative process and the examination of legislation before its passage. McCain is stepping up to do the right thing, albeit in his final few years in office.

McCain loves America more than he loves politics. Thank God there's a handful of principled Republicans left in Congress. A true hero.

What I'm worried about now is whether or not Alaskan Senator Murkowski will accept the bribe and vote to take health care from millions of Americans. Republicans have promised to exempt Alaska from Medicaid and Medicare services cuts that every other state will have to endure. So will she accept the payoff and vote yes on the bill?

Will she do the right thing and save the health care for millions of Americans in the lower 48, or turn her back on them in order to be a hero to Alaskans, and screw everyone else? This is yet another glaring example of the conservative philosophy, 'I've got mine, scr_w you', literally taken to the national level...

Ha! Succinct and accurate description.

"I'm gonna kill this guy! Hold me back! Hold me back!"
*turns around when no one does*
"Wait where did everyone go?"
*sheepishly wanders off, red faced*

Thank God! I go under ACA coverage next year, I'm on cobra now. I have breast cancer and a disabling brain injury. I will be able to continue treatment for my cancer and brain injury.

I was quite worried. I had no idea if we would be able to afford coverage next year. Well, fortunately we could afford it if the monthly premium was 3k or less, but at quite a sacrifice. My husband is retired, we are on a fixed income. We didn't have a clue how much it would be.

My husband spent 40 odd years working in the insurance industry. He was in touch with several health benefits specialists. No one could say what the impact would be those with pre-existing conditions, not even Graham or Cassidy.

And for those judgmental posters who think I'm accepting a handout or that I'm on welfare, think again. I was an accountant. In the blink of an eye I slipped on tile, fell and could no longer perform my job...or any job that would provide insurance.

Your entire life can change in a second....literally.

Even Republicans have admitted that they would only vote for it to secure a win, not because the contents are good for the country nor the people.

As far as I'm concerned. The Healthcare system worked decently before this whole mess and quite frankly. It should go back to that until something better is made.

Not sure why they even brought up healthcare again this time instead of focusing on tax reform which they absolutely have to get right if they want a chance in 2018.

Also trump should not of went after Rand paul like that, he's the only one with brains and real conservative principles in the party. The Republican Party is a nightmare but democrats are so out of touch that they will probably still lose.
This bill would have cost Arizona taxpayers $4-6 Billion down the road and thrown thousands off of coverage or made it affordable. McCain is doing the right thing for his state even as the governor sold out. The fact of the matter is that getting rid of medicaid is an idea whose time is behind us. It's here to stay and now it is time for a bipartisan effort to fix Obamacare and/or come up with something like Trump promised - affordable coverage for all.

So, Rand Paul is now considered a RINO as well? You shouldn't have to march in lockstep with everyone else in order to be considered a true member of your party.

You didn't ask me and I noted that McCain's reasoning is sound but Obamacare sucks and is not the answer we need. It was little more than a huge give away to Wall Street and the Pharmaceutical, Insurance industries.

(for context, I support nationalized healthcare. I'm not a fan of the ACA, but it's a better place to be than where we were before it. My party allegiance usually shifts between Democrat and Independent. I view myself as being somewhere between a progressive and a liberal; a radical liberal and a moderate progressive, if you will).
The question is, can we get to nationalized healthcare without destroying Obamacare first.

MY PARTY? I voted for Johnson fool!

You know that, so who is being disengenuous?

YES... BOTH PARTIES!!! Dems gave us this mess, but you prefer to blame Pubs. Typical!

How about waking up and come to the realization of the truth.

EXACTLY RIGHT!

Both parties are as corrupt as the sun is hot. They have created a cozy oligarch which makes their self-entitled political class rich off the backs of tax payers.

If a politician is talking, he/she is lying.

The dems forced a bad deal on us, and the pubs never had a plan. ALL LIARS
