  • Start shooting missiles out of the sky if they cross over Japanese or South Korean territories ('self defense')
  • Start shooting missiles out of the sky, period
  • Bomb NK nuclear facilities
  • Bomb NK nuclear and military facilities
  • Tactical strike to take out NK leadership
A ground-war will not happen, and that's the only time China would step in. I could see the war escalating from top to bottom in my list above.
A ground war is a concern and an all out war with China is my main concern albeit most unlikely. I agree with your first two bullet points with out Chinese involvement. I think the last three points would need a Chinese sign off. I honestly hope this could be taken care of diplomatically but I am afraid that ship has sailed long ago.

Totally unlike Obama who constantly apologized for being an American.
It was a great speech and I did not vote for Trump. Its funny the European leaders who wanted a nicer softer speech. Prior to WWII was it not European leaders that wanted to be nice to Hitler and use diplomacy. It took us finally stepping in and taking care of things. They seem to have learned nothing from all that. Would there be a United Nations or even many of these countries today if not for the United States?

  • Trump does not require and does not need China's permission to attack NK.
  • Diplomatic solution? To what? A Crazed tyrant with a hydrogen bomb that threats to use it against the United States. Not happening. Our choice is to pretend it's not there (Obama) or deal with it.

I was flipping the dial and caught what CNN said about Trump's speech and the headline was Trump threatens N. Korea with total inhalation. Not mentioning that Trump prefaced that by saying if N. Korea launched a nuclear warhead.

So to the left it was a war speech.

I think it was a war speech no matter what political party you belong to.

My favorite line:

“The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented.”

The audience realized the truth of that statement and laughed.
