'We will have universal healthcare in the state of California,' Gavin Newsom promises single-payer advocates - LA Times

Hospitals by Ownership Type | The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation

I guess they will have universal healthcare by paying a premium to the 76 investor-owned hospitals that California relies on to provide hospital services.

Seems like ultra-Republican Wyoming prefers for most of it's hospitals to be state and county owned by the government. California says they want univeral, single-payer care but they reliant on 76 investor-owned hospitals that are accountable to share holders to provide healthcare to Californians.

I wonder how it's going to work with their plans for single-payer healthcare considering they have 76 hospitals that are for-profit, investor-owned that are accountable to share holders first and foremost.

I hope they have fun with their universal healthcare while possibly facing huge funding cuts from the federal government under per-capita block grant program while paying a huge profit margin to investor hospitals.

Guess, Democrats in California don't believe in government ownership of a majority of hospitals like in Republican Wyoming with 69% of hospitals owned by the local and state government.

The cost per inpatiuent day is 3,300 dollars in California partly because the state is very reliant on 76 for-profit investor owned hospitals to render hospital care, unlike Wyoming with majority state and local government owned hospitals where it costs 1,500 daily.

North Dakota has 2 for-profit investor owned hospitals out of 59 hospitals.

California politicians love for-profit hospitals and the state has 76 for-profit hospitals. I guess California liberals love approving occupancy certificates to for-profit hospitals.
