Which is the way things are looking, especially given his history, what would democrats think? Would they feel silly for attacking themselves so viciously?

My distaste for Trump has never been based on his political party but rather on his current and past behavior and attitude.

Exactly, I grew up in the NYC area and was exposed to his blather for 35+ years and have thought him a jackass for that time, politics have nothing to do with it.
