Apparently this is all trumps faults and bush 1/2, Clinton, Obama had zero to do with this....
BTW, we still give aid to NK, we should have some type of say in how they act....
easy.
Without massive loss of life and massive damage to our economy it cannot be stopped by force.
We can request, bribe , threaten but ultimately we have no power over NKs short term actions.
Trump gave Kim the best gift he could have hoped for .....endless video of Trump threatening to utterly destroy their homeland. Trump is a fool who has provided the perfect propaganda with which Kim can continue to brainwash his minions.
dumb dumb dumb. but i bet trumpers feel embiggened.
Well, if that's reason enough for you, why shouldn't Trump invade the DPRK right now?
Because we essentially have a group of people trapped in a torture chamber, yet aiding them would destroy a far greater number of lives. That's really no comfort to the North Korean woman with no legs or the guy with wires strapped to his balls, but there really isn't a good solution right now.

So then you're not in favor of an attack on the DPRK, but just continuing with...what?

If it's all just bluster, then I'd tend to agree with you. But what if it isn't? What if Trump is prepared to back up his threats? You leftists are convinced that he's a madman itching to blow up the world, it seems. Maybe Kim Jong-un is convinced of the same, and all this heated rhetoric is confirming his fears. And maybe, just maybe, a credible threat from a "madman" to turn all that he holds dear (his money, his creature comforts, etc.) to radioactive dust just might possibly be enough to deter him.
And if it isn't . . . well, maybe Trump IS prepared to back up his words with action. And maybe we'll end this stain on humanity once and for all.
North Korea is cross between a dictatorial ethno-state and a cult. They've been taught that America wants to kill them and their leader. If we prove them right, by assassination Kim, you can rest assured that his successor will launch an attack that ends in millions of deaths in and around Seoul.
If that's all it took to diffuse the situation, I'd go over there myself and sing love songs to his glory all the live-long day. But that's not all he wants, and anyone with two functioning eyeballs and more than a speck of common sense knows it.
He cares not the least little bit about his own people, else he'd be feeding them instead of making them eat tree bark and torturing them if they don't bow low enough while using the country's resources to fund more missiles. And he obviously doesn't care about his "fellow" Koreans south of the DMZ, or else he wouldn't keep threatening to turn Seoul into a "lake of fire." So what makes anyone think that he can be motivated to goodness if we just try harder, or if Trump stops insulting him?
There is one way, and one way only, that this is going to be resolved, and that's through force. The only real questions that remain are (1) what kind of force will be required; (2) when will it happen; and (3) how many innocent people will have to go down with him?
We have the technological ability to stop this latest nuke test. What we don't have is the political will to use it. But if the test goes off as planned -- and especially if casualties end up including more than some fish -- I suspect we'll find the will. And if there's one thing that the history of America's more successful wars has proven, when there's a will, there's a way. But the outcome won't be pretty.
force is how you lose this fight.
time is not the enemy here fear and rhetoric are.
Kim is doing what is right for him. He is a dictator who has seen what happens when you don't have nukes or when you try to appease the poeple. You end up getting hung in a squalid basement while people spit at you.
Kim is making what he sees as the best move. And he is right. With nukes we can't touch him, so he will not give them up. What we need is calm he flock down and wait him out. He is very unlikely to ever attack anyone so a long drawn out grind is currently the only reasonable path forward. and we are going broke fighting these wars we need diplomatic solutions not military ones.

This is true.
The fact is, no national leader is evil in his own eyes. Every one is the hero of his own story.
Kim wakes up in the morning, looks in the mirror, and says, "It's me alone against the American dragon."
