It IS supposed to be a comedy show. Not a propaganda festival. Older shows made fun of what was going on, they didn't preach to their audiences. Watch the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. Reagan, Humphrey, Ford, and whomever else was right there on stage and could laugh as they were insulted, most effectively by the late Don Rickles. It was light hearted fun that everyone could laugh at. If Dean Martin got up and made an emotional plea for this or that, he'd be pulled off the stage by a very long cane before the audience started throwing fruit at him.
Exactly. Those were the days when comedy was funny and wasn't an endless attack on someone to push and agenda to discredit and change opinions to fit a narrative. At the end of the roast the people were still friends and would go off to have a few more martinis together.
Saturday Night Live used to be fun to watch (on occasion) but man the way they hammered Trump was ridiculous. I don't watch it anymore because it got old. There is nothing wrong with tossing out some jokes about our elected, it has been done since the George Washington took the stage but piling on the way they did just seemed like they were acting on an agenda of the Left.
The thing is Trump is the news because some of the things he says are ridiculous and they are the low hanging fruit for many comedians but the thing is Kimmel, Colbert and some others they pick that fruit then take out an ax in an attempt to chop down the whole tree.
If Trump did step down I wonder how far down their show ratings would go?
Being a flat out mouthpiece for the Democratic party doesn't seem like such a bad thing, when the Republican party's goal is to kick tens of millions off of their health insurance.
Falsehood. Many would love to go back to the coverage they had before Obama Care, because now the only plan they can afford is with such a high deductible that after paying the premium they cannot afford to use the insurance at all! Some coverage...
And having to pay for things they won't ever use. I for one will never need a pediatrician, gynecologist or an obstetrician, or an abortion "doctor".

That's when presidents had a sense of humor. This one can dish it but he can't take it.
This is not political humor. This is flat out being a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party. If that's what you want, that's fine, but let's call it for what it is
Trump campaigned on the promise " to replace Obamacare with something wonderful that will take care of everybody and the government is going to pay for it" . Sounds like Kimmel and Trump are on the same page.

The individual Plan market represents the smallest number of insured people and most of them are subsidized.
Insurers have been exiting the Individual Plan market for more than 25 years. Many states have faced the challenge of having only one insurer and risked having none, years before the ACA.
Most states did not require insurers to " guaranty issue" Individual Plans. Instead, they allowed insurers to cherry- pick.
Individual Plans typically excluded preexisting medical conditions. Some states allowed the insurer an unlimited lookback period. State high risk pools were a joke and excluded more people than they insured.
Plans had annual/ lifetime caps on claims.
Plans had no or very high caps on out of pocket expenses.
The rest of the developed world has managed to pull off Universal Healthcare. No two do it alike. Some are Single Payer. Some are entirely private ( insurer) payer. Most are a mixed bag. They all amend their systems annually and periodically reform it. Only in the US do we seem intent on throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

It's not being a "mouthpiece for the Democratic Party." Kimmel is speaking from his heart. The physical issue with his baby's heart made him aware of how those without the resources he has would have a very heard time affording the care his own baby received. His baby's situation made Jimmy much more aware.
Just because the Dems don't like the Repub healthcare plan, it does not make Kimmel a mouthpiece.

Did they ask you to decide what kind of show it was?
I'm impressed.
