EU gives Facebook, Twitter final warning on hate speech - Sep. 28, 2017

Quote:
European regulators have been pushing social media firms to remove racist and violent posts from their platforms in a timely manner for years. Their patience is running out.
Facebook (FB, Tech30), Twitter (TWTR, Tech30), Microsoft (MSFT, Tech30) and Google (GOOGL, Tech30) have all pledged to do more. In May 2016, they promised to review a majority of hate speech flagged by users within 24 hours and to remove any illegal content.
But the European Commission, EU's top regulator, said Thursday they are still failing to act fast enough. It said it would pass laws allowing the EU to impose punishments on companies that fail to act.
The liberal/globalist agenda can't survive when people are posting facts that run counter to the narrative. AfD getting 13.5% of the vote in Germany has them in a panic, at that percentage the populace can really start causing problems.

Please turn my country into North Korea. What the **** is wrong with leftists and progressives? If we just keep giving away all our rights and freedoms then maybe one day our feelings will not get hurt.

Any country that doesn't want to be under EU laws can pull out. That simple.

TBF - a lot of this is in relation to ISIS recruitment videos and Islamic propoganda, with youtube and other sites being told they have 2 hours to take such videos or propoganda down or face fines.

The other area of concern is encrytption with a lot of countries including the US itself not happy with encypted sites with encryption apps now affecting progress in 80% of investigations into terrorism and serious crime.

It also should be noted that the Trump Administration is also suggesting reform.
