Don't you want your kids to earn their own way instead of just inheriting from you? And I say this as a liberal

Sure but that is not at issue here.I earned that money if I want to leave to my family members that is my right ,the goverment should not profit or steal and use my death as a reason for it.

your money is not being taxed twice because after you die it's not your money anymore. it belongs to someone else.

I suggest you start storing cash under your bed. just make sure you tell the kids.

yes, the original owner of the money paid taxes on it. the new owners have to pay their own tax on it. it's income for the new owners.

if not, that would be the same as someone buying a used car. since the original owner paid the tax on it, why should the next owner pay the sales tax? boy, that would be a break for consumers, wouldn't it?!

It's money already taxed. Doesn't matter who in the family gets it. It's already taxed. The gov does not get a second bite of the apple.
