This is why so many millions like Trump. All those people like strutting, threatening, predatory bullies.
And some posts and thoughts like yours are pathetic.

Of all the nations we have been at war with, can you point out which of them we now occupy as a territory of the US? I can think of one: Puerto Rico (via war with Spain and her colonies). And Puerto Rico has been given options of sticking with or leaving the US many times. Then there are a few islands here and there. Going way back, there is part of the western US. And if you want to consider the CSA as an entity attacked by the US, there are the southern states. But that doesn't count because they were states prior to the hostilities, so it was a reclamation sort of thing.

But do we now occupy and control Japan? Germany or any of the Axis powers? Spain? France? England? Canada? Mexico? Italy? The answer is no, no, no, no, no, no, no, and no. So where do you come off with this evil empire crap? If we were an evil empire we'd directly control the entire world by now.

Whoa there, Scat&numbers...

This crap happens when a tinpot commie dictator starts a war that gets his 3rd rate country blasted to smithereens.

The Norks started the whole thing back in 1950 and got their butts spanked hard.

Looks like they're about half ready for round two.

Slow learners...

What War With North Korea Looked Like in the 1950s and Why It Matters Now

The US and allies under the cloak of the UN did a damn good job of bombing that country into the stone age. Infrastructure was destroyed, everything. Dams meant for irrigation purposes were destroyed flooding river valleys destroying towns and villages. Not only were people displaced by the destruction it all but ensured the starvation of many many people. Hospitals, schools even forests were set ablaze. Nothing and no one was spared.

It's disgusting. It reminds me of the Nazi occupation of the Ukraine, Belarus and parts of Russia. The Nazis thought they had won. They thought they could do anything they wanted and millions suffered and died because of the policies created. It was barbarism and many of the people who "were just following orders" thought that they were beyond retribution. Fortunately they were not.

Unfortunately for all of us today the same type scum who perpetrated this same barbarism forced on the people of the Korean peninsula has never been (over decades) been punished. Le May and many others need to have their graves pissed on. No one, not Hitler, George Bush Jr are innocent here.

This crap happens because common people do not hold the warmongers of their societies accountable for their crimes.

You have a twisted view of history.

instead the allies marched up the peninsula right up to the yalu river. if china had not come across the border, the war would also have ended right there, and the koreas would have been unified.

however macarthur and his big mouth, flapping his gums about invading china, and using tactical nuclear weapons to destroy the chinese army, made the chinese government very very nervous, so they invaded and drove the allies back to the 38th parallel where the war ultimately stopped with a cease fire agreement. over the years skirmishes have occasionally happened as the north tried to flex its muscles from time to time, and to remind everyone there is no peace treaty, so that a state of war still exists there.

What you have left out of your narrative is that this country was split in two with both side claiming to be the legitimate government. Also left out of your narrative was North Korean aggression culminating in the invasion of the South.

Why not give them the remains of MacArthur and LeMay along with a writeen apology for what was done. Then get to hell out of the area and let the koreans solve the issue themselves. Why doesn't the world use a little common sense in this?
I'm sorry, I thought it was NK launching ballistic missiles and making threats.

There is a word for that.

WAR

When you invade a neighboring country and slaughter their citizens, don't expect their friends to play nice with you.

Dude, I was not questioning their time line, Korea is a specific History Topic for me since I have personal ties to the People. Now the Mac wanting to use Nukes was questionable, and the suggestion that nukes should be a First Option is Always Questionable and Ludicrous in its insanity. Any sane President would have fired the Mac, he over stepped his bonds way too many times and had he had his way the war would have expanded into WWIII right then and there, thank God for Sane Leaders or many here on this site might not be.
