View Poll Results: Were Trump's Tweets Attacking Puerto Rico Justified?
YES. San Juan Mayor Carmen Cruz's comments against Trump were exaggerated and she deserved a harsh reply. 105 36.71%
NO. Trump's tweets were heartless and mean, given that many PR residents have no water, food, gas, cell phone service, and no medical supplies. 181 63.29%

The distance from US to PR is 1100 miles, so you are way off. If we had sent WASP class ships with helicopters when the storm struck, they would have been there a long time ago delivering medicine and fuel to hospitals.

That's basically the same for the rest of the world. You can live in Mexico, France, Japan, or anywhere else and if you earn income from Florida you have to pay US federal taxes on it.
Yeah I read it.

Did you?

In 2011, Puerto Ricans contributed $3.3 billion to the United States Treasury, approximately as much as Vermont. In past years, Puerto Rico’s liability has exceeded Vermont’s. In 2010, for example, Vermont’s tax liability was only $3.2 billion, while Puerto Rico’s was nearly $3.6 billion.

Puerto Ricans are required to pay federal income taxes on income from federal sources outside of Puerto Rico; otherwise they are exempt from federal income taxes. The wages of Puerto Rican federal judges and other federal workers is fully taxable, for example, as is investment income from U.S. sources, such as dividends from investments of companies located in the fifty states.

I suppose if you were in her shoes, you'd just say that everything is cool, and no help needed and that Trump is awesome.

More hyperbole because your girl lost.

That said, Trump doesn't seem to understand that it is sometimes better to let it go if the other person's 'rank' is below his. In other words, interactions with other Presidents/Chancellors/Prime Ministers, etc. are one thing, but with lower level officials...getting in a spat with one diminishes him (not Trump specifically, but any POTUS), and elevates the other (irrespective of whether the other is wrong or right (and the other in this case...the mayor...is more right than Trump is)).
We ALL know he doesn't get along with his wife. She slaps his hand away, frowns at him when he turns away, he walks ahead of her and doesn't escort her from vehicles/up or down stairs...the list is endless, so no, he doesn't get along with her.

This witch is a hateful person, uncapable of holding this job. No more cushy job for her. They need some one with leadership abilities. She definitely attacked Trump with such hatred they should get rid of her. What a waste. She is NOT HELPING the situation for the people of PR.

The people in PR are hurting badly. It's time to stop tweeting and get busy helping these people.

It's not that simple. For example, do you think that the CARE hospital ship just stays parked, manned with a thousand doctors, nurses and support staff. No it doesn't. Do you think all the FEMA people are just sitting around ships and planes, loaded with supplies and can leave at a moments notice?

You are oversimplifying.

They need the Army Corps of Engineering to get the bridges passable.
And that incompetent stupidity was what pushed the mayor of San Juan to make the statement that she made. The day before that an irate male mayor of an outlying village unloaded to reporters. Not a tweet from the great pumpkin over that. He chose to attack the female mayor of San Juan.

As I said, previously, American Airlines has shuttled supplies for over a week, from North Carolina companies. There are filters to make water potable. The incompetent federal "relief workers" need to get off their lazy butts & get out of the air conditioning & get those filters. They need go start getting those filters into the hands of people who need water. If they expect those mayors from outlying villages to get to them, they can get to the villages. If they take filters to villages with creeks, they can take some fuel to them.

The more I come here the less I want to come here. People are dying in Puerto Rico, and Trump didn't respond because he is a racist. This was his way to commit genocide. He responded when he got too much bad press. I am so sick of Trump supporters.
