The country is going to succeed whether you like it or not, Trump haters:

Quote:
The U.S. is the second-most competitive economy in the world, its highest ranking in eight years... [edit: cough cough...8 years they say? Hmmm.] ...the World Economic Forum said Tuesday as the country’s innovation edge and business optimism bolstered its standing.

Switzerland retained its No. 1 ranking, according to the forum’s global competitiveness report for 2017-18. Rounding out the top 10 behind the U.S. among 137 countries are Singapore, the Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Japan and Finland...

...The nation’s ranking was also lifted by the forum’s spring CEO survey, which appeared to reflect more optimism based on President Trump’s plans to cut taxes and regulations. Tax rates and tax regulations are still the two biggest problems identified by the CEOs.

Proceed with the excuses, deflections, fake news, or other such nonsense...

As long as Trump doesn't screw up anything anyway. The most major economic thing Trump has, thus far, done is pull out of TPP. Not that I'm going to sit there and defend Obama on economic policy as, imo, it was lousy. I'll wait and see some policies enacted by Trump though before cheering prematurely. While, as said, I'm no fan of Obama's economic policies Trump's certainly been handed a hand to lose. Obama got a sinking rock of an economy and fumbled it around but the economy was great when Trump took over. The biggest win for Trump to me would be keeping the great economy he got coming in going while making some headway into the infrastructure issues and bringing down the budget deficit.

Good.

But I hesitate to encourage government to actively influence the economy in any way. The best thing they can do is find more ways to step aside.

I'll tell ya, that Trump is a wonder boy ! In only 8 months he has completely turned our economy around. Plants are up to full speed, people are spending money, and life is just peachy !

This is such a change from the terrible condition Obama left the country in. Yeah, he did save us from the brink of disaster, and yes, a lot of what is happening today is because of him, but pay no mind to that. Trump is simply dreamy !!

because eight years ago bush left the country in shambles. once Obama took office there has been steady growth.

Obama inherited a mess. 45 inherited a recovery.

He is not smart enough to know that.
