Don't have to supply links as you can easily google Country Music Guns and get the answer you don't want to see.
I'm at Mandalay Bay every year for a conference, so I know the layout pretty well.
AGAIN this is a Casino. There are video cameras everywhere. There is one (or more) security centers that have multiple people watching multiple screens and no one noticed. There are numerous plain cloths security personnel and no one noticed. Video cameras do not have AI to differentiate people. No matter how much you want to push your anti-gun agenda and blame whatever for this happening, it call comes down to Mandalay Bay security.
Really???!!!!! Is that what the narrative is going to be? Hotel security? The guy was apparently looking at a previous concert for Lorde. This "country music" rationale is laughable. People bring trade show booth materials, golf clubs and shop while staying at those casinos all the time. But I can totally see the NRA driving a "let's blame hotel security!" meme. Next they will likely say all the concert attendees should have been fully armed.
Yes, because you are saying "we believe you intend to comit a crime" simply because of an arbitrary number of guns someone owns.
Does someone get Miranda rights in your presumption? Do they get the right to a lawyer? Now buying several guns also means you need funds to hire a lawyer to be with you when the police question you?
Its an absurd idea that flies in the face of our nations core beliefs.
Does requiring a license to drive say "we believe you are immature and unable to properly operate a motor vehicle"?

Does the constitution say the mentally ill should not have any guns? Should they? If it was determined that Stephen Paddock was mentally ill, should he have still been able to buy all those guns and ammo? Was it reasonable for the Sandy Hook shooter's mother to use guns as a method of bonding with her mentally ill son? This "nation's core beliefs" rationale has been driven so hard for so long that logic was lost a long time ago.

No. But that has nothing to do with the other poster saying if you own a bunch of guns we assume you might be up to no good and you need to explain why you have them all. Nobody of any age regardless of how many cars they own is ever asked anything alluding to mis-use or criminal intent. That is a ridiculous attempt at whatever story you are trying to spin here.

I'd argue all day long that there should be different rules for how we handle the mentally ill when it comes to weapons, however it becomes VERY difficult since not everyone is evaluated and we don't even have adequate treatment in place. That is an entirely different can of worms that is different than the vast majority of sane gun owners. You are trying to base a high level position of (multiple) gun ownership based off of a very small % of the population of mentally ill now?
P.S. - I'm not advocating for mass screening of mental issues.
Authorities say Filipino-born Marilou Danley, 62 — who lived with Paddock at his home in a Mesquite retirement community where authorities searching the residence found 19 additional weapons — is more than a mere witness.
“Currently she’s a person of interest,” Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, chief of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, said in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
She was in Asia at the time of the shooting but is expected to return to the U.S. this week, and authorities are eager to find out what, if anything, she knew about Paddock’s plans.

Fair enough.
What gun ownership related measures do you agree with ?

If the person buying the massive amount of guns is so afraid of having a discussion, why? What if in the course of that discussion it becomes clear that person has become mentally ill? What if such an interview could have saved 500+ from being shot? What if Stephen Paddock had calmly told them what his plans were? No one knows because the discussion never happened.
Being an FFL03 it's pretty easy to run serial numbers or markings if older than a serial number, or I can have a buddy do it at the PD. It's not rocket surgery. I thought you said you were a gun guy, you should already know these things.
