Well, once again, we are talking about a right.

We don't limit the other rights such as determining the mental stability, why should we limit this right?

Painful as it is, that's the thing about rights.

I keep a spare tire in my car at all times, and cant remember the last time (maybe like 8-10 years ago) I needed it. In general thats usually not even a life threatening situation. Do you find this to be surprising as well? I mean should I just toss it because I may never need it?

Because a mentally ill person should have the right to buy 47 guns because Constitution? Is logic completely lost on gun owners? Let's pass a law saying all pyromaniacs should have the right to matches.

Actually, that's the ACLU. Solve that problem, and you might get somewhere.

Not much different than those advised to always drive defensively.

Don't append your childish "FFS" to try and minimize my comment. You are just skirting the TOS of the board and I've been civil, so not sure why you need to go there. My point was that there is no confirmed information out there yet, so pretty much anything is open as a possibility right about now.

Probably should have a rocket launcher in the backseat too because one never knows. And a bullet proof vest worn at all times because the shopper on aisle five might mistake their gun for their coupons. Should everyone at that concert have been fully armed? What would it have accomplished? The police scanner also talked about the problems with drunk people. Should they be armed too?

Here is a cut and paste of that post:
She was in the Philippines. So convenient. Have a friend who is a waiter who is from the Philippines and said Isis is trying to strong hold part of this country. Money was being sent there by him in the thousands. And before they took her Facebook page down she was in Dubaii in 2016. She has cousins there. There are pictures of her on a beach in Dubai. Also she has 5 aliases on Facebook and has 460,000 followers on her Instagram. Why?! Oh yeah her ex husband is in a photo with a same little girl with 4 adult friends in separate pictures with her. Very Odd and suspicious. Especially her boyfriend has his own plane. Anyone say trafficking !!! Dubai is a leading country in trafficking. Oh by the way the shooter her boyfriend was an Obama supporter and was filmed at an Anti Trump Rally. Terrible. The media won't report this since only reported was he was not registered as a republican or democrat. Isis has taken credit twice. Why? He had an arsenal of weapons and this was planned. No past Bipolar or mental issues. The authorities know this girl friend is the key to this atrocity.

So..why kill all those people? Maybe she was going to blow the whistle on him and the money he sent was blackmail? Made him snap and know he was going to die anyway so why not take a bunch out with him? Who knows. But it sure answers some questions I was wondering.
So you believe the story posted of a person who posts a message on an AOL news article

Would the NRA support restricting guns from the mentally ill and support methods to identify the mentally ill and get regular checks to identify changes in mental stability for gun owners? The brother says he was fine, what if this man's status changed? We have to get regular eye checks for a drivers license, there is no reason a person with 47 guns shouldn't be checked periodically.
