That is one of the most offensive and ignorant sentences that I have ever read on any forum and that is truly saying something.

Yea at least this guy didn't kneel during the anthem, or was black cause this thread would be entirely different. You know I'm right.

Good start...but...restricting media isn't going to fly.

The US already incarcerates more people than almost any other nation. So to add more, will be expensive. Very expensive.
Also it sounds like it could get complicated. Here are the top 12 reasons people get denied.

Sounds like you got to start building those prisons now.

Mandatory sentences, at least in Canada, are looked down upon by most democracies, since each case should be judged on it's own merit. Having stiffer penalties for crimes committed with a gun, is fine, but judge should have the ability to decide penalties to a degree and not be forced to send everyone to jail for 10 years.

Mental Health. Certainly. That's a given.

What I've posted before, and what I believe would be a huge step forward isn't going to happen. All gun laws should be federal ( like in the UK, Canada, Japan, Switzerland etc ) so there are no inequities. So called gun free cities or zones are useless and a joke, when the jurisdiction next to it has laxer laws.

You need to do a little more research on the Australia gun ban. Hint: compare the rate of decline in gun violence compared to countries with no ban during the same time period. Also, research how many guns weren't turned in. Using Australia as an example simply proves that gun bans change nothing.

Nope. The Aussies gave up their freedom. Don't expect Americans to give up theirs.

See? The term common sense was used and liberals have no common sense where firearms are concerned.

The left will never go for it because it would inevitably impact their voter base.

Why do people have albums of old stamps, bags of wheat pennies, 10 motorcycles, 100s of LPs, cartons of comic books, rooms full of fishing tackle? Collecting seems a pretty normal hobby. Harold's Club in Reno used to have (and still may) a collection of old guns displayed throughout the casino, many exhibit as much fine workmanship and artistry as a Rolex, a Bentley, a Hacker speedboat, etc.

The answer is yes and they're going to war against us, everyday people going about our business and living their lives.

Until, someone like the Las Vegas shooter decides to end the lives of dozens and wound hundreds.

He injured DOZENS and wounded HUNDREDS.
I knew of someone who had 200 guns and 50,000 rounds of ammo in a 650 sq ft condo. Not really my cup of tea but to the best of my knowledge he never used one in the commission of a crime or to harm anyone. Different strokes for different folks. It'd be a very boring world if we were all alike.

BULL****!!!!!

The is the price that is paid by our society to indulge the paranoid fear of those who that "the gov'mint is going to come and take yer guns!!!".

So, the delusional fear of an unfounded concern of a few has created a very real and profound danger for the rest of us.

For the record, I am not anti-gun but I am anti-weapons of war in the hands of those who are not on-duty law enforcement or active-duty military.

Let's see how many of my fellow gun owners are reasonable and understand where I'm coming from.
And individuals murder with knives, hammers, poison, baseball bats, hatchets, et al. The one common factor is none of those objects or guns do anything without an individual controlling them.

And please, spare me the "people like you" BS.

People like me still value the Constitution, I'm not sorry at all if that offends you.

How predictable.....I see the typical emotional, thoughtless, knee-jerk reaction every time a nutcase decides to do something terribly evil.

The Dems wasted no time to jump on the gun control bandwagon hoping that people emotion this time are powerful enough to carry the water....

According to what I read so far this guy:

1 - Had no police record.

2 - Modified his guns to allow full automatic fire

3 - Fairly wealthy and probably capable to grease few gears and pay to go around restrictions or get guns even if he were not allowed to.

"Stricter" gun laws would have made no one iota of difference...but keep crying "we need to take away guns!!!"

This guy could have done the same thing in pretty much almost any other western country.

Is not the guns...is the culture and society.
