AUTOMATIC WEAPONS ARE ALREADY ILLEGAL. Under the current gun laws in existence, automatic weapons made after 1986 are military/LE only, and to own a pre-1986 automatic weapon requires jumping through crazy amount of hoops and great expense, and also to be registered into every federal database we know of, and probably all the ones we don't know of.

I was speaking about semi-automatic weapons that look military. What about them makes them so much more lethal than non-military looking weapons?

Unless you're willing to take an honest look at where we are as a society and consider some changes, you're part of the problem

Isn't that what the elections of the last 8 years have been about - the Democrats & Leftists have lost over 1,000 elected positions. Isn't that what the 2016 Presidential Election was all about?

We "took an honest look at where we are headed as a Society (and it is ugly) and we not only "considered some changes" .... We made the Changes to try and correct the problem.

It's no wonder that the Left remains in Mass Hysteria.

Uh huh...yeah, that's nice.
It's a diversion tactic. Period. Nobody needs your stats on this gun model vs that one to deal with the salient points of out-of-control gun violence.

The reality of it, is that people like you only come out when the LV shooting occurs....caring nota about the inner city shootings....
I don't like any of it. And it all has to do with out-of-control gun proliferation. And it doesn't make us safer.[/quote]

Tell me.....do you know how many laws the Vegas shooter broke?

What laws could we have passed that would have prevented him from doing what he did?

How many more laws do we need before people like him won't break the laws we already have?

Semi - still fires many more rounds in a minute than single fire, thus risking many more peoples lives in the same amount of time.

Honest question to those who enjoy guns in a responsible manner - why is there a need for semi-automatic weapons in the hands of the general public, aside from using the excuse "it's your right"? Can't get enjoyment from single fire weapons?

The world has changed. Terrorism isn't just tied to ISIS, but it can be a lone wolf's beliefs.

You ever chased a coyote across an open field with a bolt action rifle?

Because being armed in protected by the Constitution. And a "permit" implies "permission", which can be denied. It also costs money to get a concealed carry permit. Which is the same as infringed.

The same logic behind voter ID - since it costs money to obtain, it become discrimination.

You sound unstable. I'm glad that you don't own guns. What we need to do is make sure more people like you don't. That's a good start.

Well stated, and I feel the same. The OP is definitely part of the problem.

When you talk about semi-auto firearms do you actually know what that entails?
