Late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel opened his program Monday with a ten-minute political rant about Sunday’s mass murder in Las Vegas, saying “now is the time for political debate” about gun control.
Dismissing as inadequate calls for prayers for the victims by President Donald Trump, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), the Jimmy Kimmel Live host said: “they should be praying for God to forgive them for letting the gun lobby run this country.”

Jimmy Kimmel on Vegas: Republicans 'Should Be Praying for God to Forgive Them'

“I guess they don’t care,” said ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel during a Monday monologue on his evening comedy show, describing Republicans opposed to “common sense” federal firearms regulations as unfeeling toward the hundred of victims of Sunday night’s mass murder attack in Las Vegas, NV.

“We have a major problem with gun violence in this country and I guess they don’t care,” said Kimmel of assorted Republican legislators

Kimmel framed federal politicians as hypocritical, describing them as vigilant in combating Islamic terrorism while unwilling to restrict Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms:

Is Chuck Schumer giving him his talking points again?

Kimmel is the most bitter person I've ever seen on television.
The man must be on a ledge every night after work....

It's funny how you take a quote out of context and make this thread. I actually listened to this last night. How about you post the entire thing. I can pull a short quote from anybody and make it mean something totally different.

The highest rates of gun ownership are in rural America.

The highest rates of murder are in urban America.

Yet it's urban America that turns around and blames the rural areas for the high levels of gun violence.

It's a convenient narrative for the sheep.

Neighborhoods just 3 miles apart in Chicago (Austin and Lincoln Park) have murder rates per 100,000 of roughly 35 and 1. Same police, same laws, same access to guns. Rather than owning the problem, it's been turned into a weapon to distract people from the core problem.

I bet he is ok with law enforcement still having access to these weapons though!!

This is conditioning on a mass scale...trying to use peoples emotions to sway their opinions on gun laws, its a very effective tactic, especially when a major attack just happened.

If these attacks keep happening, eventually more and more people are going to give in and say gee, "maybe we shouldnt have access to certain guns anymore, maybe Govt knows whats best for us", maybe its best to undermine the constitution in this case, just so we can keep everyone safe.

Its tyranny masquerading as 'whats best for national security'.

This is something the founding fathers could have never foreseen or guarded against, its very sneaky and effective, If england had used the same tactic, the american revolution would have never happened, they would have just convinced everyone living under a king was the best thing for them and all these people stirring up trouble, are terrorists.

He's a typical Liberal/Progressive HYPOCRITE. It is OK for celebrities, and politicians to have ARMED SECURITY, but not for us commoners. He is an elitist tool like all the other Hollywood types, and Democrats.
