Five years as a prisoner and a dishonorable discharge seems like punishment enough.
I wonder if you both would think the same if it was your family member that was severely wounded or killed looking for that idiot.
I think the "judge" set a horrible precedent that could have reverberations for years to come. I guess since it's a volunteer army so you can decide to "un-volunteer" whenever and wherever you want with no penalty.
Oh, in other news his attorney is appealing his sentence as it holds a negative "stigma". Wants him to walk away with his rank and all benefits...

Question though....could one of the injured soldier take him to civil court? I honestly do not know the answer.
