Interestingly, Los Angeles might have a near all-time record low so far this year.

Seems like the inter-mountain West in general from Albuquerque, Denver, Salt Lake City has seen a huge increase in social problems.

They have more of other people’s money to hand out. They gravitate to those locations.

Jesus did say that the people in the latter days would be acting like the people who lived in Noah's day just before the flood destroyed everybody on earth. Violence and lawlessness are everywhere nowadays, so Jesus was right.

Genesis 6
[11] The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
[12] And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
[13] And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth

Interesting, How Los Angeles has gotten so much safer as Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake, Denver, Albuquerque have seen huge increases in issues.

Portland and Seattle seem immune to it because they they are priced out.

The high housing cost in those mentioned cities, is to blame for driving out the poor and middle class, but is also responsible for the low crime rate per capita. I believe that is the correlation. The fact is educated and affluent areas, whether democratic or conservative, have less crime. Phoenix is a beautiful place with cheap housing (it's why I'm here), but with that comes a roudy blue collar element. Add to that a wild west gun slinging culture, and there's your recipe.

Has nothing to do with the blue-collar element in Phoenix in my opinion.

Apache Junction is a blue-collar town and has a very low crime rate for instance. There are also areas like El Mirage and Buckeye that have large blue-collar populations and have extremely low crime.

Phoenix has long had a very high child poverty rate. Poor women tend to have 3 to 5 kids each in West Phoenix and have no resources for them other then what the government sugardaddies offer them.

Phoenix also has a massive heroin problem. The massive amount of drug trafficking in Phoenix I am sure doesn't help the crime situation in the city either.

Phoenix problems manifest from it's extremely high rate of poor children who in many instances grow up to become gang members and drug traffickers.

There is also a macho culture in cities like Phoenix, Tucson and Albuquerque that Los Angeles doesn't have nearly to that level.

Los Angeles has been able to price out those without family connections or section 8 vouchers into San Bernadino which is having similar issues to many other cities that are less expensive cities in a very cheap area

Tucson and Albuquerque are similar in this regard. Lots of macho culture and poor women who have multiple children while in poverty who give birth to children who will likely become gang members and drug traffickers.

Because Los Angeles and Seattle exported their problems to those cities. (Perhaps Portland did as well, although I don't think Portland's any more expensive than Denver is).

BTw Los Angeles has had an increase in crime due to the homeless crisis, although crime levels are still lower than they were in this century's first decade.
