I don't understand why you have to be so dishonest. Not wanting a wasteful wall doesn't equate to open borders or loving illegal immigrants. That's just dishonesty in order to support a limp argument.
Being honest. Pelosi and Chuckles submitted no counter offer. They like status quo. America does not like status quo. That's part of the reason HRC lost-US voted against status quo.

If conservatives had any concern for the safety of their fellow citizens, they'd do something about the excessive, deadly gun proliferation in this country; not to mention stop trying to decimated their access to health insurance. Those are far greater risks.
What about if the economy in the US gets better? That would be good, no? But then the illegal problem, if left unchecked, would get worse, not better. I don’t know about you, but no matter how good our economy is, I am always hoping it gets better.

OK let's get rid of illegal immigrants, then: a national ID system and e-verify for employees. It'll be impossible to work anything other than secretive cash jobs without being legal. It'll cost significantly less than a wall and stop the 40% of illegal immigrants who don't come over the southern border.

Our nation was built on the sweat of those who came before us. The generations past paid for a better America , the industrial age brought us out of a primitive time where our ancestors toiled for a better life and we should honor those who worked for a better life . We are a young nation but the hard work and the mass amount of sacrifice of past generations , and our soldiers who fought for our freedoms who gave their lives to keep this country free. I will stand with them always to keep this nation free from invaders and those who want to destroy this great nation.
As someone said , they want to take down the statue of Columbus . The past generations of Italians put their nickels , dimes and quarters to built that statue and we should let the haters destroy it? Agree and we must return to the US Constitution as our bas document. There is just too many like Obama and HRC wants to write the rules as they go and to fit their power grab.

How come Texas has not made eVerify a state law? How come Florida, with long time Republican legislators has sanctuary counties?
A wall is symbolic and creates the perception, government is doing something without doing anything to put a dent into what attracts undocumented people.
The vast majority of borderland is privately- owned and will need to be acquired by Eminent Domain. Land owners will reject and appeal financial offers. The courts will eventually need to condemn to acquire.
Miles of gaps in the Bush era wall exists to accommodate politically connected land owners, a University, country clubs, ranches, HOAs and so on.
