So people don't have to hunt through all the layers:
A woman tweeted "Women in games is about to start! Gamedev ladies, join us and meet the pretty side of #gamedev." to promote a women's panel at a gaming conference. Lots of people were upset because she used the term "pretty". One of her biggest detractors goes by the twitter handle "moth dad". The lady is no longer allowed to be in charge of the organization's Twitter account.
What I enjoyed was when the lady was desperately defending and rationalizing her word use. I imagine she felt like most people do when they're dogpiled over nothing, and I wonder if she started to realize how ridiculous her ideology has become. One of her choice rationalizations:
Quote:
Honestly, its a bit of black PR we do to ourselves. We are smart, intelligent, amazing AND pretty and that's something no guy can have.
she’ll either get redpilled or beg for mercy until she’s let back while still being shamed constantly.
One has to be exactly like the noisiest of the party or organization or they are attacked.
A Democrat who doesn't agree with every plank in the platform of the DNC is a DINO. Republican politicians are labeled RINOs. On a smaller scale, community groups stop notifying some of meetings if they are perceived as not being "on board" with the every word of an agenda.
Overall, there seems to be less tolerance among people.
“Dear All, As the head of the Game Industry Conference (GIC) I am humbly asking you to accept my deepest apologies for what we all agree was unacceptable, disrespectful and sexist tweet and replies by our Twitter trainee. Her opinions are her own and are not representative of GIV or those of female developers, who attended the conference. I feel responsible for the conduct of all members of our team and I will do my best to make sure that a similar incident never happens again. To start with, the person who posted the sexist tweet will no longer be a part of the GIC organizational team. Please let me assure you that GIC is a respectful environment and we have zero tolerance for such remarks. I am sure that our guests can confirm that is truly the case. The inclusiveness programs that we have already put in place are also a testament to this. You can read more about them on our website. We will continuously work on making GIC more inclusive. And not because of this incident, but rather because this has been our goal for many years. With best regards, Jakub.”
And I absolutely love this comment:
Quote:
There’s nothing quite like making an environment that’s only inclusive to feminists with a zero tolerance for women who compliment other women.
Hahahahahahaha!
