I am aware of the history, the republicans have an opportunity to correct this, they have two options. If they choose to do nothing to address this they most certainly be held accountable. Trump and the GOP promised that everyone would be covered so we will see how this plays out but removing the subsidies will most certainly impact people and they will lose coverage. If you think that a republican congressman will just say it's a democratic problem you are mistaken.
The ignorance of Trump continue to pronounce itself with a Bull Horn type of presentation. He knows absolutely "Nothing" about health care. His only aim is "anything" that can get him a "Tax Break" and allow him to pass money among his family without Taxes.
The history of his Tax Cheat Mentality is Fixed in Stone. The same as he Strong Armed Extorted Cities into giving him multi-year Tax Credits. He violates every ethics of collusion with Federal Money for an Office Holder. His facility in Washington DC has clause that he should not have it, because it is a Federally Owned property that he benefits by the lease, but the least has elements addressing political participation as a no-no. He has property that collect money from "Section 8", and he has used the Office to Promote His Properties at the Taxpayers Expense.
As to Health Care, many knowledgeable people worked on this Law, and he has no knowledge of any of the elements of the Law or the lives of the people who have benefited through the program. He does not have the guts to tell Insurance Companies that they "all" will participate, and there will be a "Federal Back Rate Cap" on All Insurance Premiums. He has not considered one minute to make Hospitals responsible for all the Federal Funding They Get, Nor to make Pharmacy Companies fess up to the massive Federal Funds used in drug development, by mandating that the patent term is shortened and the Government has a % stake in the drugs, therefore has a say in Cost Management of Drugs.
This man is a ego maniac with a bigoted mentality driven by his childhood grooming in a Jim Crow Racist Societal ideology. He is money obsessed and guilty of diving head first in the grab for Illicit Russian Money through the "money washing machine', and he is beholding to the Russian Oligarchs, who have facilitated his financing through many spider web washing networks, with direct links to Putin.
Trump has taken up and promoted the Russian Agenda Against America, by first "attacking every aspect of our government", "not filling government positions", pushing international havoc to destabilize diplomacy, and every means and methods he can to ensure the Russia Agenda of "Conflict" is promoted in EVERY area of society he can.

What is dominantly acknowledged by the American public is the negativity and hate driven agenda of Republican system and the world has watched the Republican Congress sit idle while a Maniac wreaks havoc in every areas of the nations. We are at a point of witnessing the long needed downfall of the Right Wing Ideology of Bias, Bigotry, Racism and Anti Humane Conduct that has been a hallmark of the Republican Party since the days past the 1969 Era when the Confederate Mentality Driven FORMER South Democrats moved over to the Republican Party.
The Older white constituency that fought against the Civil Rights Act, and those that have been a part of Political methodology of trying to attack and unwind, the humane spectrum of Civil Rights, are aging and they will die out in the next decades, "many of them", and that youth culture they are grooming and have groomed will come up against the truth of Democracy and Equality, and position themselves as the outcast and destructive elements against American Democracy.
The nature of our laws will advance to invoke the address of "Subversive Charge" against any and all who promote racial divisiveness, segregationist agenda and bias and bigotry upon and against race and ethnicity.
National Health Care will become across the land, and it will respect "All Persons", nothing that the Republican system can do.
American are aware of Paul Ryan and McConnell hand in the recent mess that Trump has promoted, because Trump does not have the awareness to read anything, and time is soon that these evil makers against the America system will be knocked off their perches.
The world is watching and today is horrified at the collusion of the Republican Party to not have removed Trump and his Entire Regime.
It's time for a Military Take Over for 6 months until America can have a New Election. The Generals are already in Place, and they are demonstrating they can handle the task. They can make no laws and pass no bills, and when a New Administration is chosen, we may see the Electoral College Disbanded, it is no longer needed and it violated it responsibility in allowing Trump to ascend to the Office of the Presidency.

That's not what you asked. You asked why the legislature should fix someone else's mistake. Your response (don't fix a "mistake" because politicians from the other side of the isle did not do so) speaks volumes

Exactly. Many millions will be relieved of the crushing blow of high premiums plus high deductibles.
I'm sorry some of you don't see it that way, but when you take food off the middle class's families tables to subsidize those who don't bother to make enough effort to support themselves and pay their bills, the middle class is going to place their own family as their top priority, as they very well should. Understanding that reality, too, is another HUGE reason Trump won the election.
