And, no, college is NOT "free" in Sweden. Swedish college students' average student loan debt is $19,000.

Let me repeat VAT does not pay for HC.

The fact that sales tax is paid to the cities and states here means that some of the services are provided by them using this money, that's all.

I am not sure how some of you sleep in the night. Somehow you think it is morally acceptable to force other people at gunpoint to pay for your own need.

Not only that, but they claim the moral high ground, but do nothing to help the REAL poor people who are starving and dying by the millions. Because they got theirs, so ***** the rest of the world.

Do as I say, not as I do. Morally bankrupt hypocrites.

When are you folk going to give up that stupid myth? All societies use force to enforce the laws. No one knows an alternate way.

An limit libertarians would do the same. Only way known to protect the rights of a person when attacked by another.

Why are you suggesting a strategy that is against the law?

The Fed will just raise taxes to pay for them.
Medicaid spending is approaching $1 trillion (Fed + state), nearly 1/4 of Americans are on welfare programs and over 50% of babies born is paid for by medicaid.

Compared to other countries we have the richest poor on earth. And with birthright citizenship why wouldn't the poor want to come to the US ?

It is what it is and as long as nothing changes all we can do is put more money into the Federal coffers to pay for it.

What should worry you more is why very few middle class people in Europe don't want to immigrate to the US.

PS The answer to that is simple, they do better in their home country because of universal health care, paid vacations, free college tuition and pensions.
