Seems no one wants their pockets picked to support dead weight, neither the left nor right. So why is this even an issue? Just don't do it.

Not true. If it were true, 43% of the CHIP/Medicaid enrollees wouldn't by under age 18. They are. And that's completely unsustainable. A society with so many welfare-dependent is going to destroy this country.

I guess those over 65 are "dead weight," too?? They put in less Medicare than they receive in benefits. I don't happen to think so and don't mind spending extra on our elderly, but if people want a Health Care system where you get only what you personally pay/paid for, it's not Medicare either.

No, not if they have paid into the system.

Dead weight are people who don’t pay into the system.

Posted this in another thread, and it applies here, as well...

Charge Medicaid recipients for 1/3 of the benefits they receive, like the Medicare average. Plus charge them monthly premiums, co-pays, and deductibles, and have them buy supplemental policies if they want prescription drug and other optional coverage.

Deal?

Where was this government-provided health care we were supposed to be getting?
And how do you pay? Or does your employer pay for you?
