Some people believe in a god of love and healing. Others believe in one of discipline, judgment and cruel punishment. All seem to think that behavior must be controlled and belief has to be forced.
I do not believe in either. I believe we are living in a completely indifferent universe that follows its own rules regardless of what people may or may not believe. That universe has created an ecosystem dominated by fire whenever enough fuel has collected and the winds are strong and very dry.
That's the difference between the Old and New Testament. God was pretty vengeful and merciless in the old. He is loving and accepting in the new though.
For your information the 2017 wildfires have been the worst in recorded history...38 confirmed dead so far, hundreds still missing, almost 6,000 homes and businesses destroyed....There are still 15 fires burning in northern California.
The Tubbs Fire — which leveled whole blocks in Santa Rosa — could well prove to be the deadliest single wildfire in California history.

This is California's own fault, but not because of god. Ironically, for a state that criticizes humans for causing "global warming" (with no evidence, mind you), it spends countess resources extinguishing fires in an effort to save some hollywood millionaire's mansion. Had the state let nature take its course over the past decades, we would not see these mega fires. So California is right to say that the fires are made worse by humans, but it's California's own forest fire policy that caused this, and not some fake politically- motivated theory.
Trump tweets to show compassion. The fires have chased away wildlife, and there are no tweets from birds, so he's being compassionate by tweeting for those who miss it, filling in the void with cyberspace tweets.
OK, joking aside, the fact we are discussing a POTUS's tweets in comparing across disasters is sad. Why does anyone give a crap about his tweets anyways? All we should care is about real actions and federal relief.
