Close down your sanctuary cities, start cooperating with the feds and following the law regarding immigration, and then we'll talk about financial assistance if you need it.

Until then.....you are on your own.

You can't have it both ways.

You are either part of the country, or you aren't.

Sanctuary cities still legal. Fed govt still responsible to help states and territories in times of need. Sorry but it's a simple as that.

Do people who live in CA and oppose sanctuary cities get to opt out of this plan?

Do they get to keep their tax money and stop subsidizing red states? Is this the beginning of Balkanization? Because that's fine, just wanting to know if it's official yet.

If California can afford to spend billions of dollars on criminal aliens...can't they afford to take care of their own citizens? You would think...they would care more about Americans than foreign criminals...but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case.

If we are Balkanizing, maybe Northern CA, Oregon and Western Washington can merge with Canada. We could just be done with this game and send our tax dollars to Canada instead of Trump. And no complaints about the "United" in U.S. What the OP is saying is we are essentially a bank for the country that should pay for the help of others while receiving none. Why pay then?

Stop trying to engineer a living space out of a desert and there would be fewer fires. Idiots.

NFL players who protested during the national anthem in Week 6 - NFL Nation- ESPN

I read the above link on ESPN.com about an hour ago.

Oakland Raiders: Marshawn Lynch sat at the beginning of the national anthem before Sunday's game against the Chargers, as he has since the preseason began. He was standing, however, during a moment of silence for the victims of the North Bay fires, before which former Raiders wide receiver (and...added by me (RMESMH).....3 time Super Bowl Champion with the Raiders) Cliff Branch (added by RMESMH....I used to love to go to games and watch him play...fans would wave 'speed kills' (a tribute to what his speed on the field would do to opponents) banners from the stands when he caught a pass), who lost his home in Santa Rosa, announced the Raiders were donating $1 million to the relief effort. Lynch has not said why he has remained seated during the national anthem since joining the Raiders. He wore a T-shirt before the team's Week 4 game that read "EVERYBODY -VS- TRUMP" (the T-shirt = all caps).

Uhh..the fires are not anywhere near the desert...perhaps some geography would help you out. Foothills and valleys, mostly.

Fire is a part of the ecology of that area and has been since long before man ever set foot in California.
