Trump will never take personal responsibility for anything. The buck always stops with someone else. So when he is asked something about his own actions that puts him in a bad light his immediate response is to throw dirt on someone else as a way to deflect from his own shortcomings, even when he knows it's an outright lie.
What did any ex-president have to do with the question that was asked of him? Not a damn thing. But for someone who is incapable of accepting criticism lying to avoid responsibility comes as natural as breathing.
Watch the presser at the White House today. Trump NEVER MENTIONED ANY NAMES. He said some Presidents wrote, some called, some did both and some did nothing. That's what HIS GENERALS TOLD HIM.
You Looney Leftists still believe opposition media after they've been proven wrong so many times? You prefer fiction to nonfiction I see.

It’s amazing how easily that lie rolled off your tongue. Your supreme commander would be proud. He literally said, “Obama.”

You might want to actually watch him give that statement again, he most certainly called out "Obama". I am convinced that "the generals" are what he calls the voices in his head.
he just says what his base wants to hear. He is not going to do anything real for them but talks like this works for them doesn't matter how far from the truth they are and DJT knows it.
How does one formulate statements to make to a cult of followers, the highest mental level of which are barely cracking into the dull-normal category? You can't depend on educated advisers, but have to get your cues from someone of the same type as your targeted audience. In other words, Trump must produce it all himself and spew it out unfiltered.
Trump doesnt run this country, he just goes around like a bull in a china shop causing chaos while his minions follow him around trying to fix the damage.
Every unscripted word that comes out of his mouth is crass, thoughtless, completely void of empathy and focusses only on himself.
The WH staff he hired is no more competent than he is. He's a guy who want to always be the smartest person in the room. Hence the IQ standards for his subordinates is woefully low.

Stop watching FOX news and you'll learn things............ You can check "any" other news network and find the truth out.
Trump stepped in it with this lie. He lies all the time with no consequences. But this one went too far and was caught quickly and in public.
"...Disrespectful lie’: Anger grows over Trump’s claims about past presidents and fallen troops..."
Retired Army general Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2011 to 2015, said in a tweet that Obama and President George W. Bush “and first ladies cared deeply, worked tirelessly for the serving, the fallen, and their families,” adding, “Not politics. Sacred Trust.”
