I remember during Vietnam (husband is a Viet Vet), there were NO congressional escorts, presidential phone call, comfort, consideration, 500k insurance coverage, 300k GoFundMe account, lifetime healthcare, free college for a KIA vet's kids. 58,000 dead Americans received nothing but scorn from their country. Sorry, but I can't have much sympathy here. My husband was drafted (aka conscripted into slavery) and served in Vietnam for twelve cents an hour pay with no benefits after his duty ended, was exposed to Agent Orange, had a daughter with a birth defect and has had cancer himself twice. The services these days are like a job, they hire on and do their jobs and getting killed is a potential element of the job.
