I wouldn't have hugged that Nazi. I don't ask why a Neo-Nazi hates me. It's just the way a Neo-Nazi is. They hate anyone that isn't White, and that is what it is. It is in their ideology. Hate is what they know.
Hate comes from fear and fear comes from economic insecurity. If a different "group" is perceived to be competing for the same resources (jobs, money, land, food, etc), that group will be feared and hated.

Honestly, I would. I think too often we forget that we are all one race of humans and if this guy was standing by himself and was being attacked like he was, I would have told the crowd to stop and tried to positively engage him.
I do think that most people do want to do good and be good and that often racists are just ignorant or hurting in some way due to past slights or trying to fit in somewhere. Kindness can be much stronger than disdain or violence to make an impact on someones life.
The SJWs who spat and punched this Nazi in a clear violation of the non-aggression principle are probably going to hunt down the hugger and asked him why he didn't do likewise.
The black lives matter types fall into the same trap the white supremicists do... One should judge on character, not skin color. I dislike the left because they dont honestly acknowledge there are plenty of black, Mexican, and Asian racists. They always focus on the white racism.
If anything they encourage division with the victim card they play.
