People even here are missing the important point. It doesn't matter who's plan it is. The kids were right that trump's plan only benefits rich people, but after being deceived by the "news" guy, then got on his side. That is where biases originate.

Say that they had changed the name, but asked about the plan how it really is [tax cut for the rich], they should have said it was not a good plan even if that was sanders' plan.

The reason why I find this irritating is because that is how all news work. They don't care about informing or telling the truth, but it is about getting people on their side. Nothing good can come from this, both side only get farther away from how things really are.

why are you lying?? the ''news''' guys is proving a point...that 99% of college students have been indoctrinated to '''approve''' of only a liberal plan and bash a republican plan

and the tax plan effects all levels of income....mostly to the good, but some to the bad

some rich will make out better....some rich will pay more
most middleclass will make out better....some will pay more
nearly all of the poor will make out better... period

90% of middleclass will be helped out by the plan...the 10% that wont have extremely high itemizations, and large families

so a middleclass 2 person household making 40k-100k

one dependent assuming its you as an adult with one child.... HoH:
std ded: 9250
pers exemp 4k per..so 8k
current total 17250

under new proposal

one dependent assuming its you as an adult with one spouse.... married jointly:
std ded: 12600
pers exemp 4k per..so 8k
current total 20600

under new proposal
married jointly std ded 24k

so the two person household middleclass income, their taxable income will BE LOWER under trumps plan

so how about a Married couple with a dependent

12,700 +12,150 in exemptions ($4,050 x 3)

$24,850 in deductions, under Trumps plan $24,000

so a married couple with one kid will be 800ish...more of taxable income
(because they have not set exacts, most economists are saying the std will double, making the std at just slightly over 25k)(the std is already set to increase to 13k for 2018, not counting the trump plan).....

....AND the estimated brackets are set to different levels by reducing the brackets from 7 to 3... will make it so its LESS tax owed in the incomes under 120k

What the guy proved is how easily it is to deceive people. The three points he raised are specifically about the richest people, and he made the students believe it applies to everyone, and that is why they agree with it, not because it was sanders.

The reason people immediately side with the left or the right is not because they are "indoctrinated" it is because they are deliberately lied to, just like the video shows. You got things backwards. I am not taking side here, they're the opposite side of the same coin.

current deductibles:
HoH std ded: 9250
married jointly: std ded: 12600

so to compare current and trumps proposal for deductibles you get this:

so a middleclass 2 person household making 40k-100k:

assuming one dependent (an adult with one child) (single mom of one).... HoH:
std ded: 9250
pers exemp 4k per..so 8k
current total 17250

under new proposal
HoH std ded 18k

single mom of one makes out slightyly better with trumps proposal

assuming one dependent ( you as an adult with one spouse).... married jointly:
std ded: 12600
pers exemp 4k per..so 8k
current total 20600

under new proposal
married jointly std ded 24k

so a childless married couple make out better (in deductions) with trump

so how about a Married couple with a dependent (3 person household)

12,700 +12,150 in exemptions ($4,050 x 3)$24,850 in deductions
under Trumps plan $24,000

850 dollars more taxable income under trumps proposal.. so they make out a little worse:
but.....
so a married couple with one kid will be 800ish...more of taxable income

(BUT because they have not set exacts, most economists are saying the std will double(ish))......
(which would make the std at just slightly over 25k) if that is the case, then they are not losing 800ish dollars, they will be better off than the current

(BTW the std is already set to increase to 13k for 2018, not counting the trump plan changes but for current law).....

many economists trying to help the lower incomes are recommending ideas like this for the 3 brackets:

start at 40k and go say to 200k for the 12%
....................................200k to 2 million for the 25%
and...............................2 million to infinity for the 30%

or..just a little higher

....................................200k to 2 million for the 25%
and...............................2 million to infinity for the 30%

this is recommendations to help the lower / middle incomes

again they help the lower and middle incomes

what will this do to the national debt...unknown depends on spending

People on either side don't stop to think that maybe both side are wrong, that the party system is antiquated and doesn't work anymore, so they go on telling lies without even knowing. Those tinkering with numbers don't solve anything, problems will continue to get worst. But go ahead with the illusion that everyone will be better off.
