the median household income is $59,039 ....which means that 50% of household make MORE than $59,039 , while 50% of households make LESS than $59,039

and yet you want to bash a multitude of people calling the middleclass ($115,347) rich according to some chart you want to use, and call a workingclass cop making 120k in the """"""1%"""""

You need to go look for the meaning of median, it does not mean 50%.

This is the chart I was looking at. Over half (~55%) gets less than $50k, 75% gets less than $85k. and the higher 10% get over $135k.
A person who earns 120k, is very close to the top 10% according to this last graph. That is not my opinion, it is a fact.

uhm

median is just that half

denoting or relating to a value or quantity lying at the midpoint of a frequency distribution of observed values or quantities, such that there is an equal probability of falling above or below it.

The median is the value separating the higher half of a data sample, a population, or a probability distribution, from the lower half. For a data set, it may be thought of as the "middle" value.

Median income is the amount that divides the income distribution into two equal groups, half having income above that amount, and half having income below that amount. Mean income (average) is the amount obtained by dividing the total aggregate income of a group by the number of units in that group.

I understand you are new to CD...but how old are you.....because your knowledge of taxes and incomes seems to be a little.....less than elementary

I don't need you to lecture me, I knew median means the middle point not 50%, you are the one who seems confused.

I am not bashing on anyone, if somebody earn $120k, good for them, but the fact remains, that person is very close to the top 10%.

And this thread is not about income, it is about lies. Did you hear what obama say? I provided a link. Can you tell he is lying? If so how come you can't tell the lies about trump?

YES..the middlepoint of PEOPLE

the median is 59,000....its the middlepoint of ALL household income...meaning that 50% of the PEOPLE'S HOUSEHOLDS make more than that, and 50% of the PEOPLE'S HOUSEHOLDS make less than that

Median Household Income

An Median Household Income wage estimate is the boundary between the highest paid 50 percent and the lowest paid 50 percent of households. Half of the households earn more than the Median Household Income, and half the households earn less than the Median Household Income.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are in the bracket that gets the tax credit.

Low income families get tax credits because they can't afford to raise their children with their income. Tax credits, tax cuts disproportionately benefits higher income families because they have more money.
The problem is not the tax or whatever readjustment they think will solve the problem. The problem is that increasingly more people can't get living wages.

To put things emblematic, it is like if people had a serious injury and instead of going to see the hospital you just tell them: here, take this band aid, you'll be fine, and the people in a better condition you tell them: here: I like you better, take the whole box of band aid just in case.

There is no interest in fixing the root problem and people fight over the crumbs.

Workingclasshero is correct.... Median means 1/2 are above and 1/2 are below. Looks like 59K is the median.
