So 4 troops are ambushed in Niger..it takes almost 10 days for President Trump to even acknowledge anything happened. It was even mentioned on the Trump news network (a.k.a. FoxNews)
When Trump is confronted about it he claims he reaches out better than any predescesor not exactly endeering himself to a large chunk of Americans.
As time goes by it is discovered a troop is left behind...a black soldier to boot and considering that Trump is viewed as someone who panders to racist the optics don't look good.
What is also a bit of a 1-2 punch a troop left behind after an ambush under a republican president looks double bad considering all the tome/money/energy the GOP and Trump spent on the last time Americans where ambushed and allegedly left behind in Benghazi which led to 4 years and 8 separate investigations now the shoe is on the other foot.
After nearly 2 weeks of silence from the Trump white house, Trump botches the call the the black solders widow..Per a congresswoman and close family friend of the now deceased soldier Trump says this soldier who was left behind mind you "Knew what he signed up for" and according to the congresswoman "Didn't even know his name was La David"
In Response Trump goes on the usual Twitter attack. The soldiers widow and family confirm the congresswoman's version of events saying Trump more or less dismissed their loved ones death. In the meantime a white gold star family showers praise on Trump and how he handled things (again optics not in Trumps favor)
Gen. Kelly is dispatched to discredit the congresswoman, however video evidence shows the general is blatantly lying about those events so Trump looks foolish and desperate. the white house response is it is wrong to question a general.
Instead of Trying to look empathetic and say something like "I am so sorry we seem to be misunderstanding each other but let me fix it and show I care about the service and sacrifice of your husband" reach out to the family and make a 1/2 rear ended attempt to be presidential he doubles down the attacks.
However going back to optics this can be viewed as another attack on a minority gold star family similar to the khan family. People want to know why was a soldier left behind period. How did this attack happen. Why are you so dismissive of a soldier of color?

You missed the Travel Ban that inexplicably included Chad where we have 1000 soldiers based, unbeknownst to several on the Armed Services Committee. This resulted in Chad pulling their troops.
But no worries. Word is that Russia has recently signed a military cooperation agreement with government of Niger.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Sgt. La David Johnson's widow wants to know why her husband wasn't found for 48 hours and Trump responds with a tweet about her being a liar.

It still surprises me how willing the the cult of FOX/Trump is to simply bleat whatever trash FOX pushes that day.
The uranium lie is easy to debunk and has been thoroughly debunked many many times. Yet still Trumpy voters will repeat it. thus we have millions of complicit americans. It is no wonder this nation is so divided. We have some folk on the right who were not only willing to vote for a man whom they knew to be grossly flawed but also they are willingly lying to support that man even now.
think about it. Trump got the win, so why are they still lying? They know Hillary did not sell our uranium to the russians and they know it is not possible for the russian's to export, sell , destroy or refine uranium without the consistent and never ending oversights of the federal gov.... but still they lie... This tells us that many on the right have become completely unethical in their zeal to support their guy.
Because of this i fully expect the Trumpers to continue to lie over Nigargate. and I expect them to lie at every opportunity if they believe it may in someway hamper the left or support the trumpyness.

I don't recall saying Niger was a utopia or anything about the country.
But help me out here..Are you saying that since Niger is a 3rd world country what happens to soldiers there is meaningless? Soldiers can be left behind, their deaths dismissed /ignored?

the DEMS should simply maintain the status quo within the party until the very last minute, thus blocking FOX/R from demonising them... then with just months to go the dems should pick a squeaky clean very young no background Dem that has no history to lie about...

I have always maintained that most people who were elected president nobody saw coming at this point less than a year into a presidential term.
In late 1965 No one saw a former VP failed presidential candidate/the 2 years later become a failed governor candidate becoming president in 1968 but it happened.
In late 1973 No one saw a quiet peanut farmer/governor who had no national presence becoming president in 1976 but it happened
In late 1989 no one saw a hillbilly who was booed at his own parties convention a year earlier becoming president in 1992 but it happened
in late 2005 no one saw a newly elected black senator with a funny sounding name not only beat heir apparent to democrat nomination Hillary Clinton but then become president in 2008
and in late 2013 no one saw a reality television star with no government experience and some shady practices becoming president in 2016 but it happened.
