Jeff Flake knows something that most other conservative republicans have been trying to ignore. That is that Trump is teetering on the brink of the abyss. Flake realizes that those who do not distance themselves from him soon, will be lost, when the rubble of the regime comes crashing down. By the time the 2018 Congressional Campaign begins in January, many others will have joined him. There won't be the slightest chance of a republican majority forming on any issue in the Senate. During the next year, their house majority will also be weakened, as they all are up for re-election. Bad behavior in 2018, won't be forgotten by the voters. Efforts by lunatics like Bannon and his sinister billionaire backers, won't be able to patch it together.

I heard him described on NPR today, as having been very conservative. But after today, most other conservatives will try to deny that he was ever one of them. It's a special brand of short-term historical revisionism that they practice, when each one breaks ranks with them. Good to see him go. Hopefully McCain and Lindsey Gram will follow quickly behind him. The American people voted D. Trump into office because they are tired of the "norm". They want real change. They GOP and DEMs are not all that much different in reality and they are both fighting Trump tooth and nail because if he is successful, their power is gone. They will have to be accountable to the people and they just can't have that. I say get rid of them all and start over, the old school Congress needs to be shown the door and if possible, put on an island somewhere where they can't do any more damage to our Great nation.
I long for the days of normalcy, and believe many Americans long for the same thing. The drama we see playing out everyday in Washington is not the norm, and it's hurting and dividing this country. The norm is what made this country a world superpower, normal people who know what they are doing. It's the other than norm crowd, who don't know what they are doing, that's going to hurt this country.

Arizona Senator Flake took to the Senate floor today and announced that he would not seek another term. he then went on to lament the current state of our government. He went directly after the president and his conduct stating that it was not normal and should not be considered acceptable.
Bravo.

We must never regard as “normal” the regular and casual undermining of our democratic norms and ideals. We must never meekly accept the daily sundering of our country - the personal attacks, the threats against principles, freedoms, and institutions, the flagrant disregard for truth or decency, the reckless provocations, most often for the pettiest and most personal reasons, reasons having nothing whatsoever to do with the fortunes of the people that we have all been elected to serve.
None of these appalling features of our current politics should ever be regarded as normal.
Reckless, outrageous, and undignified behavior has become excused and countenanced as “telling it like it is,” when it is actually just reckless, outrageous, and undignified.
And when such behavior emanates from the top of our government, it is something else: It is dangerous to a democracy. Such behavior does not project strength – because our strength comes from our values. It instead projects a corruption of the spirit, and weakness.
The notion that one should stay silent as the norms and values that keep America strong are undermined and as the alliances and agreements that ensure the stability of the entire world are routinely threatened by the level of thought that goes into 140 characters - the notion that one should say and do nothing in the face of such mercurial behavior is ahistoric and, I believe, profoundly misguided.
When a leader correctly identifies real hurt and insecurity in our country and instead of addressing it goes looking for somebody to blame, there is perhaps nothing more devastating to a pluralistic society.
More Republican Congress Members should speak up...(but they won't, because they've been agents of chaos and conflict generations for decades promoting disruption and degradation!!!) those who sit silent and those who endorse and pander to the Madness of Trump, should be banned from the American Political System Forever!!!
It's insane how the Right Winger support such madness, but the truth is. The Right Wing Loves Conflict and Contention... They spent 8 yrs fighting anything and everything, without even knowing what they were fighting, they fought because they saw a black man in the Seat as President. If they could find no reason they would create fiction to devise an illusions to support their need and desperate desires for Conflict and Contention.
America has installed a Swindling, Lying FOOL, in the Office of the Presidency. Hopefully more Americans wake up and realize how destructive and detrimental Republican are and how damaging they have been for Decades to and against America.
It's like a force of evil fills their ranks, and they seek to do nothing but destroy something. The 6 yr multi million dollar mess they created behind fighting health care, and when time came to see what they had, they had absolutely nothing, but a plan to harm and damage 10's of millions of Americans, all for the sake to try and give the wealthy some massive tax break. They have no idea what is the collateral damages of the Tax plan and the devastating cuts it wants to invoke upon Medicaid and Medicare, which will impact Millions of sick people, and cause many other to loose jobs and cause the whole business system that supplies medical clinicians to also loose their jobs, and the reverberation will ripple through the entire economic system of America. This will be multiples by the damage pursued to be done to the EPA, The Trade Deals and Our International Associations.
Republican feel they did not destroy enough in 2007-2008, they want to do more damage and they want to make it more widespread, and then they want to promote every angle of civil unrest as they can. It's nothing more than the Ideals of The Confederacy, who has never ceased its Attacks on the United States of America. They now feel embolden behind the Barbarian of Greed and Ignorance,which is the make up of the imbecile Trump.
American People and People Around The World, want this Barbarian of Greed and Ignorance to be gone, and we now see the "madness of the Republican Party front and Center, in their willful neglect and disregard for America, to do nothing and leave this imbecile in office.
He has taken America Down in the eyes of the World, it has exposed the Rabid Mentality of the segment of white society that still lives with the racial ignorance in mentality as if its the 1900's -1960's.... The Liberal Minded whites who demonstrate their respect for Diversity will do well and continue to be a global community respecter... But other nations will be careful, that none of the Liberal minded white society is being covertly manipulated and used by any of the Right Winger to push any agenda item under any circumstances, that is connected to Right Winger White Republican System Members.
Most Right Wingers are Blind Minded by their bigotry and their delusion of superiority until they can't see that other nations are moving ahead, they've out built us 100:1 and China now has a supercomputer that is 5 time faster than anything that American has. The Global Supply Chain for Industrial Production is now in foreign lands and very powerful in their structure and capability, the Asian Pacific and the East Asian region dominated by the Industrial power of China.
America now gets to see first hand the lying of Right Winger System players and Trump has insulted the Office of the Presidency in ways that no nation will give America respect under any current or future Republican Administration and/or a Majority Republican Congress. Who will suffer is the American people.
Russia gained what it wanted with its PURCHASE OF TRUMP, AND THE CRONIES HE HAS AMASSED, By the purchase of Trump they have used his ignorance to wage war against everything in America and Against Every Aspect of the American Government. They now see how ignorant a mass segment of Right Wingers are and they have demonstrated how gullible they have been to be hoodwinked during the election, and they watched American swallow everything their Russian Operative (Trump) Presented.
All they had to do is wave money in his face and the sold out and committed to attack America's Government and its Congress. They knew the greed of the self interest vanity of Right Wingers would accept anything with a vain hope of getting money, and they used the biggest swindler and the American operative who willingly sold everything out to underworld dark money, so they spent their time and groomed him with cheap purchases of his gaudy properties, which means they bought a minion cheap.... and he has has already done "Trillions of Dollars" of Damage to American in only 10 months.
The Trump Administration is playing the role as America's Greatest Enemy, backed up by his devotion to Russian Agenda, and he willingly has pushed ahead with a dire focus on getting money and tax breaks.... nothing else matters to him, he will tell any lie and attack anything to try and get means to not pay taxes and to gain access to underworld dark money. The problem is obstruction hurts. Remember there is no penalty to Congress or the President during government shutdowns, yet military families and families of those working for the Department of Defense are. My mother worked for the DoD and mechanical and electrical inspector for 30 years, she was forced to not work during the 1995 shut down (when she got back from a training during the first few days of it.) She got a forced unpaid vacation. Military are forced to serve but don't get paid for it. Yet these obstructionist that just want to see the world burn, do?

He can't. Just last year he couldn't say he would support Trump as the Republican candidate. Yet he could support Trump's conservative Supreme Court pick, DeVos, the repeal of Obamacare. If he REALLY did object to Trump, he should have done it by his voting records and not through empty words. Sen. Flake is a FAKE.

McCain isn't besides the Supreme Court pick and DeVos (who paid for his vote so he should have obstained) voted time and time against repeal and replace, being the deciding no vote the last few times.
