I don't think Bannon can fool that many people--he's just another huckster--there is nothing genuine about him. So he can put his crazy candidates out there, but that will only work in a few extreme places. His AZ candidate reminds me of Christine 'I-am-not-a-witch' O'Donnell.

If Trump doesn't get his tax cuts through this year, corporate America, Wall St, and the stock market are not going to like it--and that is what has been propping them up.

Trump has made very few friends and a lot enemies in Congress. Nobody is going to make it easy for him. And he is still making new enemies every day with his twitter tirades.

Simply put, Jeff Flake does not represent conservatives and does not represent the ideals of the American people. Good riddance. Let him leave.

Let's get someone in there who will support President Trump and who will help in making America great once again.

Democrats and Republicans care - because the incumbent isn't running. This means the seat is up for grabs. Incumbent Senators, on average, win re-election at least 80% of the time. With no incumbent running, the seat is up for grabs.

Since Flake is retiring, he will vote as he chooses for the remainder of his term.

Bravo.

Excerpts from his address:

We must never regard as “normal” the regular and casual undermining of our democratic norms and ideals. We must never meekly accept the daily sundering of our country - the personal attacks, the threats against principles, freedoms, and institutions, the flagrant disregard for truth or decency, the reckless provocations, most often for the pettiest and most personal reasons, reasons having nothing whatsoever to do with the fortunes of the people that we have all been elected to serve.

None of these appalling features of our current politics should ever be regarded as normal.

Reckless, outrageous, and undignified behavior has become excused and countenanced as “telling it like it is,” when it is actually just reckless, outrageous, and undignified.

And when such behavior emanates from the top of our government, it is something else: It is dangerous to a democracy. Such behavior does not project strength – because our strength comes from our values. It instead projects a corruption of the spirit, and weakness.

The notion that one should stay silent as the norms and values that keep America strong are undermined and as the alliances and agreements that ensure the stability of the entire world are routinely threatened by the level of thought that goes into 140 characters - the notion that one should say and do nothing in the face of such mercurial behavior is ahistoric and, I believe, profoundly misguided.

When a leader correctly identifies real hurt and insecurity in our country and instead of addressing it goes looking for somebody to blame, there is perhaps nothing more devastating to a pluralistic society.
Kudos to Sen. Flake. It’s all about to unravel now.

It's the only way they are truly free IF they come from states that voted for Trump.

I thought I heard that they had pulled their support of Kelli Ward for some reason.

Flake is from AZ, a swing state, this means you guys will likely primary up a more extreme Rs thus giving advantage to a moderate Dem.

thanks, we appreciate your guys making your party a party of extremists. FLAKE has literally (as in literally) said he will not follow your path.

BRAVO for FLAKE, Hurrah for Dems. simply delightful to watch you guys win and then throw it all away through intolerance.
Trump is going to split the Republican party in two. There will be Republicans and then there will be Trump Republicans.

Nice!

If we just ignore the truth, it will all go away.
Keep dreaming buddy. Trump's acting like a boss & will win re-election in 2020. Flake, Corker, all the RINO's are endangered species and will be out of office soon, to be replaced by Trump supporters...and they know it.

Exactly. It's something every frigging day with Trump. Who wants this, really? Our government should not be a spectator sport.
