If NK is preemptively nuked, then Seoul would be wiped out and perhaps even some japanese cities. China would quickly take over all of NK, and even parts of South Korea. Russia would support China. The US would do nothing while it watches its two East Asian allies disappear from the map.
China wins because it never liked Kim anyway, and now it has all of NK, most of SK, and many parts of japan is radioactive with huge numbers of japanese refugees leaving the japanese home islands for the US, Canada and Australia. China will be the undisputed master of all of Asia with its russian sidekick supplying it with hydrocarbon fuels. The US will look ridiculous while Trump pump his chest looking like he has won bigly. Bigly loser of the 21 century.
There are many good tactical assessments written by professionals about regional military capabilities including estimates of NK delivery systems for a nuke etc. etc. etc.
Your account of the situation is currently not reality, not even immediate reality and also makes the false premise that our "pre-emptive nuking" would at all impair their nuclear abilities which I don't agree with either.
Thus in rebuttal, Japan would merely summon Voltron to smite any incoming "future nukes" from NK.
Always interesting to hear people use the "logic" that the best idea to keep someone else from having a nuke is to nuke them first, then again I think some posters here truly are idiots .
Yeah, agreed plus a lot of it is keyboard bluster, "yeah we'll nuke em!" is pretty much the same hyperbole that the OP keeps smearing around like feces.
If Trump decides to nuke Pyongyang preemptively, what do you think the response from the international community would be? How would China and Russia react?
They'd retaliate against some US ally or vital interest. They wouldn't make a direct attack on the USA. Maybe Taiwan. Maybe Japan. Maybe SK. They'd have lots of options and no doubt have the scenarios already staged.

I don't think people realize how close we are to a truly apocalyptic scenario. The thing is, it could all be avoidable if we had somebody different (it doesn't matter the party) in the oval office. I wish there was some way to de-escalate this situation but Trump seems set on being the first President since Truman to use nuclear weapons and his supporters are just fine with that.
Even a retard like tRump isn't stupid enough to do that.
Everyone should relax and take a deep breath.
Enjoy the World Series and football. The media hype over the NK thing is just to grab more attention. And they know it works if you pump up your blood pressure.

Well, I don't think anyone thinks we should "nuke" them first. But we do need to consider action that would prevent them from "nuking" us, which they seem to be capable of doing (thank you, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama), and have bragged that they intend to do it.
We are quickly reaching a point where the U.S. is no longer viewed as a global leader. Russia and China are all too eager to replace our role in the world and they are appearing "reasonable" in contrast to the inane rantings of Trump. Three more years and the U.S. will have the same level of importance as some third world country. Never thought this would happen but here we are.

You seem to have left out a President, LOL
Sure we should, saying we will wipe them off the map is not exactly conducive to getting something worked out. So will trump give away the south China sea, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan to the Chinese so he can broker a deal or make empty economic threats towards them. Tricky situation that requires a true Statesman, trump ain't it. God Help Us All.
I'm saying yes, but there's a catch. I don't necessarily expect this to happen. However, unlike any previous administration, at least in the last few decades, I think Trump could feasibly decide to do it.
It's not on my mind all the time, but the fact that I could see it really happening is troubling.
