Maybe because his "sources" are the Russians, who feed him true and false information so that he can pretend to be doing this all on his own. No one, hiding in a basement, can come up with some of the items he does, without help from some very savvy intel group. And no one is better at that stuff than the Russians, no one.
All good journalist have excellent sources.... No one has been able to prove his sources put out fake news. So far, if he released it.... It happened. That is research journalism.
