NBC’s Mark Halperin OUT After Multiple Sexual Harassment Allegations
From The Daily Caller -
"NBC News parted ways with veteran journalist Mark Halperin early Thursday morning, just hours after he was accused of sexual harassment by five former female coworkers.
“We find the story and the allegations very troubling,” the network said in a statement. “Mark Halperin is leaving his role as a contributor until the questions around his past are fully understood.”
Halperin, who is currently contracted as a political analyst for NBC News, was accused of a range of alleged predatory behavior including propositioning coworkers for sex, groping women’s breasts and kissing them without consent, according to CNN."
"?...... he just came up from behind -- I was sitting in a chair from across his desk -- and he came up behind me and [while he was clothed] he pressed his body on mine, his penis, on my shoulder"

So what? That was overt sexual harassment, deliberate and humiliating. A long delayed apology, issued only after outed, is not good enough. Bet there are others he has done it to who haven't come forward.

Does anyone else think this is getting out of hand? These allegations were known and happened years ago. Why are we hearing it now, and with some stupid hashtag? The guy was a pig. He didn't get the women fired. He's a jerk, but are we now going to publicly shame all men who've behaved inappropriately but didn't abuse their authority? Because that's going to be a LONG list guys.
Was it a criminal act? Was it yesterday or six months ago, or 15 years ago? These people are being prosecuted and sentenced without a trial. At what point are we going to say enough is enough with this witch hunt?

There always are. There are more pervs and predators than we'd like to think out there, and yes, mostly men. It's one reason why people like to refuse to believe the women coming forward - they don't want to admit it.

No, it's not out of hand. What IS over-the-top is how much of this goes and for how long it has.
IT....SHOULD.....NOT....BE....HAPPENING.
You're only hearing about the tip of the iceberg. This goes on in ordinary lives and the workplace, daily, all over the country. But, it takes a high-profile situation to get national media to cover it in a big way. I can tell that there is a very long way to go because of many of the comments and excuses being made on this board. (Including your actually.)
And because of that.... I have some bad news: you are likely to continue hearing about this problem for the rest of your life.
An apology for what, a hypothetical consensual situation?
