Two things are there- Legal Immigration and Anti-Immigration. People tend to attack immigration on the whole, even legal citing illegal. While illegal immigration is wrong, there ae benefits for African American communities from Legal Immigration.
Look at Foreign Students bringing Dollars to Universities which can be used for scholarships for many American students including African American students. Look at various Businesses opened by Asian immigrants - Chinese buffet or say a Gas Station by some Indian immigrant generate Tax Revenue for City Authorities running Schools where African American children study.
This has always puzzled me. Has it not dawned on Blacks that Hispanics would further dilute Black opportunity? Hispanics would get all the benefits of being a minority without the level of discrimination Blacks get. And quiet as kept, many Hispanics want to come here to mesh into the "majority" (think, Ted Cruz)
Because probably the biggest motivation for being anti-immigrant is racism and or a fear that your culture is going to be threatened.
Well since you ask I will answer your question. As a black man I never hired a illegal. In fact I do not know any legal hispanics who hired illegals to do a job. That honor belongs to whites. I never saved a buck, avoided paying taxes are put an american out of work by hiring an illegal. That honor goes to the white man. So when you ask me why does it not angry me it is because I did not play any role in matter. I do understand why whites call then rapist, murders and thieves when I know most of them just come here to make a buck to take care of their families. Scape goating is something whites are good at. Lay the blame at the feet of those who are responsible. Old Billy in the nice Chevy dually hired them because cheap labor and avoiding taxes is only frowned upon when others do it. For him it is the white American way. As blacks we understand how the game is played. Blame those who had least to do with the issue because it absolve those who were the main culprits.

Blacks have always been last hired, first fired. It didn't matter if there were immigrants coming or not. Blacks have historically been looked down on more than anyone else. The Irish were severely hated and looked down on, but after a certain point, they would be looked at as "White". Blacks would never get that opportunity. Historically, anti-immigration sentiment has never been about helping Black people. It has been about keeping American White Anglo-Saxon. Blacks have higher unemployment rates than anyone else regardless of skill and education levels. It's been this way for decades. I won't lie that there are many Hispanic persons who don't like Blacks. There are many people who don't like Black people,period. Immigration won't affect this much. Truth is, Blacks have always been at the bottom.
Where I live, it is the blacks that are the immigrants (Haitian immigration in Palm Beach County has exploded in the last decade)
So, yeah, Hispanics aren't the only mass immigrants coming to the USA. So are Haitians and Jamaicans.
Exactly but they won't hear you because many people feel the need to categorize all "blacks" as the same. That way it is easier to stereotype and make excuses for discrimination.
I'm of African descent with parents from the Caribbean. I am in support of legal immigration, for people of African origin and others. Why would I be against it when that is what allowed me to be born and raised in the U.S.? The OP is out of touch.

Black folks don’t have a dog in this fight. White folks are the ones that brought the illegals here and hired them in the first place. Now that they’re scared of being overwhelmed by the children of the cheap labor they wanted, all while voting to kill unions and other worker protections, they wanna turn to us black folks now and insert us as their wedge. Uh uh...it just ain’t gonna happen. Whites created this mess, and they must clean it up.

Being accused of getting preferential treatment due to minority status? Just 2 examples of things that might concern a black person more than immigration issues.

No doubt, but just the everyday stuff that many of my friends have been forced to tolerate. For example my friend in Chicago, who has a good job, in 50"s and never been arrested has never been called sir by a cop. I have never not been called sir by a cop. Some would say so what. I would say public servants should show the same respect no matter who they are talking to. I call it accumulative BS. After a while it turns into complete distrust and even antagonism towards police.
