In 2015 there were over 50,000 overdose deaths in the United States. About 33,000 of those deaths were from opioid overdoses.

In 2016, the 21st Century Cures Act was passed, allocating $1 billion over two years in grants to states to deal with the opioid crisis. I don't think Trump is planning on increasing that assistance, though I may be wrong.

Uh no, he admitted republicans are a failure.

And if you think Trump is going to do anything more than whatever Obama did on this issue, you REALLY live in a fantasy world. Merely stating what everybody already knew is hardly anything resembling a solution.

Maybe you are right. Obama was not a leader responsible for anything.

Good ole government, cause a problem and then profit off of it.

Another 'brilliant' Trump observation, perhaps second only to:

Puerto Rico is an island, surrounded by ....... wait for it ..... WATER!

Man's a real rocket scientist.

Why can't they be thrown in jail like the rest of the drug addicts? Maybe they need to change their culture and stop expecting the government to help.

Wow, The Drs, ABC, did a show on opioids...talking to police...I had no idea really..
just a little awareness with teens.
Dayton, Ohio is a hub...I-75 from Mexico.
Now, what did they say 800 people die each day from over doses?
I know a person that had left over Vicodin, 32, couple kids, steady boyfriend after a divorce...stable ...worked in a Flower Shop...she had been drinking a bit...what, 2-3 cocktails cuz in pain while the kids were asleep? Forget if she hurt her back..
Took some Vicodin...didn't come to work...they searched for her boyfriend's #..he goes over and she is dead...kids went to school, thought mom was in bed.
i know another 30 yr old hooked...and now would do anything she got her hands on ...college grad, good job.

Oh, it is a crisis...ask any policeman.
