Guessing the reports are not favorable to Republicans.
After 50 years, who knows? Both parties back then were equally hostile to Communism.
If the release was postponed, what's in there about Cuba and Russia could well be the reason. Oswald may have gotten kicked out of Russia, but he was still, from what we know about him, a dedicated communist who had some recent knowledge of what was going on there.
Though I doubt he was a double agent, or even an agent, it's very possible he may have known one in Russia, even if he wasn't aware of it.
I recall he met and got to know some other American defectors and defectors from other countries during his years in Russia. Most of the defectors didn't know the language, and didn't share the culture, so it was natural they would seek each other out if allowed to do it.
I'm no conspiracist. I always believed Oswald was the lone assassin. But I also think the CIA was keeping a close eye on him, and the FBI surely was, as Hoover's big thing just then was catching spies.
If Oswald knew one of our people who was planted in Moscow, he could have been a danger to that person, even if he didn't know the person was one of our own spies. From all accounts, Oswald was free to move around and meet who he pleased.
The Russians were watching him, of course, but they didn't confine him at all, and set him up in a pretty good living arrangement.
He was a chronic malcontent and a misfit. People like that are always good potential for spies and counter-spies.
this should go directly to Mueller for investigation. That way you'll know it will never end.

The Starr investigation lasted 3 1/2 years, and didn't disband until after Bill Clinton's term ended. Mueller has just begun in comparison to that one.
The Watergate investigation lasted 2 years, and the chief was still on the job when Nixon resigned.
If you thought Mueller would wrap it up quickly, you were misguided.
But one thing is for sure; Robt. Mueller knows the intricate workings of our intelligence, especially in the FBI and DHS, better than any other single person in the nation. He created much of them during his long service as the FBI Director, and many of the people he put in place are still there where he put them.
He'll finish his job more quickly than anyone else could.
People always say that withholding the files means conspiracy, I don't know. It makes 100% sense that the FBI, CIA, etc....have wanted these files withheld.
Look at the ones released yesterday...
JFK having sex parties with celebrities.
JFK chasing prostitutes, strippers, and women with government agents while married.
JFK trying to barter down the cost of assassination attempts on Castro saying that $150K plus $5K in expenses is too much and he wants to pay less.
The CIA describing in detail how they might try to assassinate foreign leaders like Castro, Che, etc...
The CIA and FBI calling each other names.
The FBI monitoring the Dallas communists who are only 5 to 6 people and they might have to bug their car, because they have meetings in a car at times.
Etc...
This is all highly embarrassing. And it is understandable why various government entities wanted this under the wraps as it could make foreign policy more difficult - particularly with Cuba and Russia. Remember, Castro died less than a year ago.
ABC Nightly News reported it and talked about Mexico and Cuba as the reasons
so, then, if that were true, why Bobby? It was all connected....
and then Jackie Married Onasis for protection....then John Jr. ? I'm sorry but that was no accident.
Just the fact that they have the nerve to with hold documents, proves how utterly corrupt Washington is.

They released nothing that gives us any clues as to who shot Kennedy, b/c whoever was responsible for John's death, also had Bobbie killed and John Jr.
Sorry, but what they released is garbage....has nothing to so with the murder of the Kennedy boys.

I don't know what a deep state is but remember that President Eisenhower warned about the danger of the "military industrial complex." That was right before JFK became president. Apparently there were/are people in high places who want big money for defense and for their own purposes. There were many powerful people at the time who were only interested in money. Greedy, corrupt people.
Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Morgan, big banks. It's really complicated. I wonder if it is world-wide? It seems like some sort of controlling group of mega rich, greedy, corrupt people who are involved in Big Oil, Big Banks, Defense spending, etc. LBJ was Big Oil in Texas. So was GW Bush Sr and he was also with the CIA. Bush Sr was also involved in some sort of meeting with Oswald, I think--
Everything you can read about the assassination and events leading up to it reeks of corruption and evil. Mafia, CIA, FBI, greedy people, Kennedys who were sleazy and lawless, people out to get other people, people out to get even, people out to kill and overthrow governments. Cubans who wanted Fidel Castro assassinated. Mafia who wanted their cash cow casinos back--the ones they lost in Cuba when Castro took over.
That trip by someone (Oswald or an impostor) to Mexico does seem to be key. Nothing about it adds up.
Marilyn Monroe--another victim. She was delusional and actually thought JFK would marry her. His brother, RFK, had to tell her that she meant nothing to JFK. Then he became involved with her too. She had a diary and threatened to go public with it. Strangely, she died right after that. Sleazy Peter Lawford, BIL of the Kennedys--he helped and his widow admitted things late in her life--she may have admitted that they had her killed. The autopsy didn't find remnants of pills--she was killed some other way.
So is all this evil, corrupt, power hungry mania...this horror show that has been destroying our country for decades and is in control behind the scenes, is this what people call the deep state? Because I keep reading about the deep state in this forum and it sounds crazy. Maybe it's not crazy, maybe it's what we've suspected all along but there was no name for it. What is the deep state anyway?
Also, there were witnesses at the grassy knoll the day Kennedy was killed/murdered, and they strangely met their deaths.
Also, Kennedy's last speech, listen to it.
I believe Americans had a hand in this, they wanted to go into Vietnam...and what, right after Johnson was sworn in, he signed an executive order to go in....which meant big money for American manufacturers of weapons.

Today I heard for the first time that maybe a Secret Service agent shot JFK by accident. Is that an old theory or something new?

I have heard that before. A SS agent had a early version of the AR-15 near Kennedy, and some speculate a round, or rounds came from that rifle, accidentally.
