U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, a San Antonio Democrat, blamed the Trump administration for adopting "callous policies" toward immigrants.
Soooo... she's illegal and disabled. Went through a border checkpoint for emergency surgery. Then was detained because she has 0 legal status.
How is this Trumps fault? Aren't these laws on the books way before he came along?
I guess the taxpayers are fronting the bill?
Oh ya, Joaquin? Lets rephrase your tone of speech "ILLEGAL ALIEN". There ya go.

Very sorry for the family that their child has a disability but no reason to enter illegally.

Here illegally? Do they have health insurance? How did she get treatment without health insurance? We have been told for at least 8 years that if you don't have health insurance you will die because you can't receive medical care.

Families fault. Living here 10 years illegally, wrong of them and they have broken the law.
I can see wanting to do anything to save your baby and get surgery, but they should of went back!

If you’re poor qualifying for Medicaid is easy. It’s if you’re trying to get in on a waiver, like for disability, it becomes difficult. Ask me how I know - because my kid with CP and other disabilities doesn’t qualify, we are just a little over the income limits and the waiting list for even getting a hearing for a waiver is about three years long in the county I now live in.

Years ago I was living in Los Angeles. I broke my wrist. Foolishly I had cancelled my health insurance. I was young and thought i did not need it.
So I first went to urgent care. The Dr. on staff said go to county hospital they will treat you. I went there. I was the only English speaking person there. Even the PA system was only in Spanish. The cost of illegals is way more than what is reported.

And that's exactly the answer/remark that any sane, law abiding American should make.
