Mueller has too much integrity to play distraction games. This is a serious legal proceeding and you can believe it's not being done for show. The evidence must be pretty good because the Grand Jury approved the charges.
Rosenstein was informed of the charges before the Grand Jury got them. I would imagine the WH is in permanent pucker node about now.
Mueller has been working with NY and VA on state charges as well as the federal charges he will bring. If Monday sees Manafort or Flynn (or both) go down, they may be beyond the reach of Trump's pardon. They will be happy to sing a duet if they can get their charges reduced.
