Apparently some whites are still p***** at LBJ for signing the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Bills 53 years ago.

Poor little snowflakes.

I am tired of people claiming that neither party has changed over the years. Nothing remains static, and I doubt that either of the major political parties as they are today would be recognizable to anyone who lived 150, 100, or even 50 years ago.

In the 20's being in the Klan was like being a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Woodie Guthrie's dad was a member. Donald trump's dad was a member. DH grandpa was a member.

Most real estate property had the clause in it that the property could not be sold to Blacks. That clause was on a couple houses I bought in Houston and Webster Groves Mo. IIRC, it said Negros. According to the JBS published book, A Texan Looks at Lyndon, it was also on the ranch.

Before y'all build up a head of steam about individuals please remember the sundown laws in many many towns. As a child I saw lots of the ladies in the neighborhood sitting in their cars at the bus stop with the maid waiting for the bus.

My town had several areas where the owners of the lots could only be white Christians. If an owner of a house in River Oaks married a Jewish person, she could live in the house, but never own it.

It does matter what happened years ago. I had to buy poll tax. My kids drank from colored water fountains.

I am more concerned about the party passing laws making voting more difficult, today.

Agreed Although that has nothing to do with my post.

I'm tired of people ignoring history. It causes them to make the same mistakes over and over again.

Good ole progressive government. Going places it shouldn't.

What laws make voting more difficult?

LBJ being a clan member was a claim made by the KKK leadership to the feds.

It was just a statement made to the feds. NO EVIDENCE WAS EVER PROVIDED. None.

Kinda like how Trump claimed Obama was born in Kenya with no actual evidence/proof and turned out to be total bull crap.

The real problem is the culture of victimhood fostered by the media and black leaders. The real problem is to somehow think that a sympathetic elected official (black or white, HRC or Obama) will save them.

Read your history. LBJ was indeed a racist.

Most Latinos and Asians support the Democratic party too. But of course you leave that out because MAGA Trump fans are obsessed with black people.

The people who are still Klan members are the Republican party. That's why David Duke, the tiki torch white supremacists, and Nazis today all support Donald Trump. And he supports them.
